I have heard that the ps3 does not come with hdmi cables, but I'm not sure what hdmi cables are.

Does the playstation 3 come with the red, yellow, white cables and the red, blue, and green hd cables that connect to the t.v? These are the cables that I want and I just need to know if ill have to buy them seperate from the console when I go to buy a PS3 tommorow.

Thanks

i just bought my ps3 late last week . it came with the red yellow and white cables i call av cables.

i gotta say the ps3 will look like crap wityh those hooked up.

today i went to walmart and bought a hdmi cable... ahhh much better:D

the red blue and green wires are component cables they will give u hd gaming in 720p, 1080i, but the hdmi cable is the best choice cause u can upscale dvds and old ps2 games when u have that hooked up. plus u get full hd if ur tv can handle it. but it will still make ur dvds ps2 games 1080i or 720p. instead of 480p from the component or av cables

If you want component cables for PS3, I would say it's safe to assume that Sony's component cables will do the job.

He might have an edtv, in which case component cables would give him a 480p resolution I believe.

Okay, I'll give you the cable breakdown. The cables that the PS3 comes with are compsoite cables, which are red yellow, and white. There are only three in composite cables.

The cables that I think you want are called component cables. They are, as you, said, red, yellow, white, blue, and green. There are five on a component cable. Unfortunately, they don't come with the PS3. These cables cannot be used with an SDTV. Only with an HDTV.

Now, if you have an HDTV that supports 1080p resolution, I would recommend HDMI cable. They give you the best picture quality available. These can only be used if your HDTV supports 1080p. If it doesn't, then you can't use them.

Hope thia helps! :D

This confused the hell out of me. I have an SDTV (I think) with component input and for the 360 cables, I use component and just had the HD feature on the plug switched off. Can I do this with the PS3 ones also? Because I NEED component for ps3 without buying a new tv....

nope it doesn't have it , they only included the Red,White,Yellow cables with it , if you want HDMI cable then you have to buy it separately.
