Console RTS doomed to mediocrity?

Do you think that the RTS genre will ever be prevelent on the PS3? I mean Red Alert 3 and EndWar were nothing amazing and far too simple. With console online gaming so incredibly popular and PC gaming (arguably) on a downhill slope, it only makes sense that keyboards and a mouse (or maybe keyboard and move?) are implicated.

Keyboard and mouse should work. I mean theres at least two usb ports on every PS3 and the move would also help. How well did those two sell because i just have a feeling that people who like RTS games aleady have a PC to give them that experience.

Unreal Tournament 3 is playable with a mouse and keyboard on the PS3.

I doubt RTS games will ever make that huge leap from the PC to the PS3 that you're looking for. Civilization, Endwar and Red Alert are probably as close you're going to get. There isn't enough of a market of people playing with mouse and keyboard to justify so many games of that genre being on the PS3.

my biggest complaint on c&cra3 for the ps3 was the unit cap.. i played c&c4 for the pc and didn't like it.. i actually haven't liked a c&c game since EA took over Westwood back in 00 (i think).. i might have liked yuri's revenge (02-03?) but i am not sure..

so i would like to see a different rts make it's way to the ps3. since in my eyes c&c has been mediocre for about 10 years..

I tried endwar but then again i haven't liked a tom clancy game since.. i don't even know..

Btw, i don't really like Keyboard and mouse gaming.. i would prefer if they just made a good controller rts.. i liked starcraft 64..

This game will save RTS on consoles. I love RTS on my PC, but I don't have the money to keep up with the Jones'.

I don't think this is the gen that RTS games become as good as their PC counterparts.
Hopefully we see it happen one day.
I couldn't believe the difference between Civilization on PS3 and Civ IV on the PC. Like absolute night-and-day.
