Not sure which to get. Which one do you prefer and why?

I've only ever played Dragon Age Origins (of the 2, obviously), but I didn't like the combat in Origins cuz it felt very repetitive and loose, in the sense that while the skills, weapons, attributes, talents etc. are all there, the core combat feels pretty basic and uneffective, and I didn't feel like I could do anything whilst playing the game. Otherwise, Origins has a pretty great fantasy storyline, and graphics are okay-ish, and overall, if I were to give it a rating out of 10, I'd say 7.5. But like I've said, I've never played Kingdoms of Amalur, so I wouldn't know - have you tried doing your own research?
Dragon Age: Origins! While I liked both games, Dragon Age: Origins is probably one of the best RPG I played in the past few years. I think I finished it over 10 times, and I loved every minute of it. Great story, great gameplay (while might be stale sometimes), amazing character leveling up, sweet characters and overall a very satisfying experience.
If Amalur has better controls, I personally think that as long as the main gameplay is good and up to scratch, the storyline only has to be decent enough for it to make sense - take my word and go for Amalur.i did. I've heard that Origins has a better story, but Amalur has better combat. I'm torn one way or the other so I'm wondering if one is so good that it trumps the other. Sorry, I should have been more specific.

I would say "Amalur", it just appeals to me more. I like the design, and the colors in "Amalur". It's a hard set esoteria to describe.
Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Collection.
That's how RPG's should be done and yes, I love the turn based combat. ;)
Can't can't wrong either way.
Origins is more of rpg than Amalur, but both are good in their own ways.
DAO Ultimate Edition it is.
Amazing Story
Amazing Atosphere
Deep and interesting Characters
You get to make choices that matter for the later game
Great Soundtrack
Some missions can be a bit lengthy but usually nothing too bad.
Add Ons are great fun as well
This game just does everything right where it needs to do things right.
KOA on the other hand isn't a bad game either, but comparing these two is like comparing Gran Turismo to Super Mario Kart.

lol, I love Dargon Quest, so all is forgiven Are we talking about Dragon Age or Dragon Quest now? Somewhere along the line the conversation switched - or is it just mistypes?KOA: Reckoning, looks better and has the best combat I've ever seen in a RPG. I love the huge open world with the massive loot and ability to switch your class at any time (given you've got enough money), the story is really the only part that lets it down.
