Hey Guys,

I bought darksiders the other day and plan on really cracking into it at the weekend.

But i am a little curious.

Does anyone know if i can go back through the game?

What i mean is, before i finish the game, can i retrace my steps back to the beginning of the game for the collectibles? or do i have to get them as i go through the game?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Darksiders is just one massive hub world broken up into sections so it's not quite linear. You'll see what i mean about the world when you start playing it, so you wont compromise anything. The game saves right before the last boss battle so you can go back to collect stuff either before or after you've finished the game.

During the game you naturally collect everything you can. You only ever need to go back if you didn't have the right equipment to get the collectibles the first time through.

i should mention that if your planning on getting all the trophy's for darksiders then there's one you can only get during the start of the game , right as the apocalypse starts. If you don't get that trophy during that particular event then you would need to start the game over again. everything in the world changes after the first scene so you cant go back

I would also make the suggestion that you save the game when you get to the broken stairs for the first time. You are going to have to jump across this highway and face this big guy with big claws. After you beat him is when I would save because you have an "on rails" segment where you have to get 160 kills during the segment for the trophy. It can be somewhat of a bugger to get .

You should also keep in mind the "Who's Counting" trophy. When you first meet Ulthane (you'll know when you see him) you will have a competition with him to see who can kill more angels. ALWAYS kill the ones he is not concentrating on, and after that go for his. Be the biggest hog you can possibly be. Also, be very wary of your surroundings, if your not aware you can get easily stuck. And once you get Ruin (War's Steed) ride on him as much as possible to get the "Dark Rider" trophy. Oh and one more thing, I recommend you start on Apocalyptic. It will be tough at first, but its doable, and worth it.

Oh, one other thing. The "Improvised Kills" trophy is really frustrating if you dont get it at the very start of the game. The very moment the game begins kill as many enemies as you can with any objects you can find (It might be easier to be on Easy mode for this). You have to get 150 kills. Over time, objects dont respawn, so it will be tougher to get it in the long run.

If you add me, I can help you further on the game if you ever do get stuck.

with regards to riding ruin for 100 miles. I didn't really focus on that until the end of the game. Let me tell you it can be a pain in the butt to ride around for that long, it can take some time. My little fix for this was finding a wide open space in the wastelands where I could run him around in a circle. Soooooooooo I just taped my analog stick down in the right angle and set War and Ruin off on their neverending circle and went and surfed the net for like half hour until I heard the ding :P.

PS try and get the 150 kills with stuff from the environment early. Lamp posts and cars don't respawn (there is still plenty though...)

Ha, I did that, too! It took me well over an hour, though. I think my circle was too tight. Anyway, all these guys are correct. To sum it all up: Make sure you get the Airborne Parking trophy in the very first segment of the game. Make sure you save at The Broken Stair before you open the door with the red-eye that requires a key (you'll know when you see it), because its taken a lot of people several attempts to get that trophy. Save when you meet Ulthane so you don't accidently miss the "Who's Countin' Anyway?" trophy, but I got this one the first time and it was rather eazy. Save the "dark rider" for last and rig up the analog sticks. I'd also like to add (even though I'm sure you'll do this anyway) make sure you aquire the Abyssal Armor as soon as possible. Its SOOO powerful, and you can actually carry it over into your "Apocolyptic" playthrough. ENJOY!!!!

I agree with everything you said however if you are going for the platinum there is no reason not to play Apocolyptic first. It may be a tad difficult to begin with as others have said but you get the hang of it eventually. May as well get the gold for them all in one go as they stack.

Good point. For some reason I was thinking you had to play the default setting to unlock Apocolyptic, but I was thinking of a hundred other games. :P Well, TC, if for some reason you find Apocolyptic too difficult you can always put it on Normal or Easy and get the Abyssal Armor before going back.

you can plat it in one playthrough; others have mentioned where to save;

SAVE BEFORE YOU USE THE BLUE KEY LEADING UPSTAIRS IN THE BROKEN STAIR; and then just finish the game if you miss areial beast and come back to it, it took me 2 tries of trying for the trophy to get it, not including my normal play and apocalyptic play.

WHEN YOU ARE TOLD TO GET THE BLACK HAMMER AND YOU FIND IT SAVE;if you miss this make another save.

i would suggest one playthrough on normal for all the items and upgrades; and another playthrough as apocalyptic with an item you get for collecting all of an item, cleaning up all the other trophies besides the two mentioned above.

you can come back for all the others and grind for any levels you need.
