The $15 monthly fee...does this apply to playing online? I would only play the story mode offline so I don't have to pay $15 every month do I?

And MMO stands for what?

Thanks for ur help

You can't play offline.

It's anMassive Mulitplayer Online game. So you have to pay $15 dollars!

To mean this is a rip-off because you pay $70 dollars (Canada) to buy the game and you have to pay another $15! I want atleast half a year if you buy new for free! It's a big Rip $180 a year for online and 70 for the game!

well the game is online only. so there is no story mode. MMO stand for massive multiplayer online game. and im unsure of the fee if its monthly or every few months but yes u do have to pay to play online.

Ok so MMO stands for Massive Multiplayer Online... and there is no story mode?

I looked up on ebgames.com:

http://www.ebgames.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=77614

It states: youwill embark on story-driven adventures penned by Geoff Johns and other famous DC writers

In the end this game does not offer a story which players can play offline?

Shame, I'm not a gamer who plays online...

It does have a story mode but you need to be online. Basically its World of warcraft with the DC characters.

Does Playstaion no longer offer free online services?

major dissappointment...I was thinking about buying it and was pretty sure after I watched the blur trailer but having the game only playable online and have to pay 15 every month...scratch that game off my list then :(

Define "online services". MMORPGs have always been Pay2play. you actually get what you paid for I remember when I was into MMORPGs I would read the developer blogs like twice every week because MMORPGs usually have something changing/evolving or added to it.

The game title is DC Universe Online. How anyone thought there was offline play is beyond me.

JB you must be new to video games or something

okay so an MMO is where there are thousands of people all playing in the same world at the same time you cannot go offline it is always online (world of warcraft for the PC is the best example). the 15 dollars a month is not for the PSN (the PSN is free and probably always will be) what you are paying for with the 15 bucks is the servers that the game runs on to support the thousands of people all playing at once. so the 15 dollars a month goes to the company that made the game not to the PSN. I hope that answered your question well enough

Usually if you preorder you get some free playtime 90 days usually. is the publisher offering a deal?

i hope they do. cuz i would definelty pre order then bring it back after the time is up. i dont have a credit/debit card. so i wouldnt be able to pay the money monthly to play the game. so that free time would be great. they would probably have more people pre order it because of that. thus making them more money
