They aren't conventional weapons. They are mining tools found on the ship, which are converted to weapons.

Nope, Toys R' US is BSing us and has the release date listed as 10/20. They just want to clear out stock before the good games come out, and will take any measures to do that :(

I started caring about dead space after the animated comics that came out. I found them really entertaining and well done.

I will almost certainly buy dead space as soon as I can.

Oh yeah, I'm on the same boat as you guys.

I've preordered LBP and may preorder Fallout 3.

The only thing keeping me back is the $120 that I'm losing.

What I'm hoping for though is that LBP will satisfy me for 2 months (I'm sure it will satisfy me for years to come) and then I'll get Fallout 3 for Christmas (which means I dont have to pay for it), and then I will get one more game for my Birthday (which is on the 22nd of December)...Perhaps it will be Resistance 2 if it as good as I hope it is.

If you haven't seen the other reviews, then I suggest you do. Plus, I've been eyeing thing game for a while.

I think I'll wait until the PS3 review goes up - this is EA we're talking about after all. Plus, IGN gave it an 8.7, which is "great", but not "Editor's Choice" or whatever IGN calls it.

Please look again. IGN did give it editors choice...a game only needs 8.5+ to qualify.

Yeah, the game looks cool and all, I honestly dont have anything bad to say about it, but quite frankly Dead Space is on the top of my list right now (right beside Fallout 3 and Rock Band 2). I dont know, LBP really isnt doing it for me right now, it really seems like its something I would definitely have to rent first to see if I would like it.

Seriously, this is going to be a huge problem for some people. A lot of gamers overlooked this one because of all the high-profile games coming out around it: LBP, Fable 2, Resistance 2, Gears 2...and on and on and on. The fact that this is getting some killer reviews is making everyone take stock to see if it's worth's getting.

This is what I was personally afraid of. There are too many high-profile games coming out at once, and some are bound to get buried. People just won't have enough money or time to play them all, so they're going to have to pick and choose. It's almost enough to make me wish for a massive gaming drought after the first of the year, just so I can catch up with everything I've missed. I'm already skipping this one and Saints Row 2 and saving my pennies for LBP, and it sucks because I've wanted this game since it was announced.

been playing this game for few hours now,its too good !!EA surprised me today, deadspace is a well polished game!

i even forget to eat my dinner and lunch because of this game, i rekcon its better then RE4.

Agreed.

Of all genres, survival horror is the worst one to use a guide for. These games take pride in being able to shock and startle you, so how does this game have the slighest chance to scare and entertain you like that if you know when everything is coming?

Yeah, you can say that you will do your best not to read too far to spoil things, but trust me youre gonna slip up once in a while and its gonna ruin the whole scene.

If editors choice wasnt just something given to anything with a certain rating or higher, id still not care, because quite frankly someone elses choice might not be mine, but even if i didnt enjoy the game, it could be just my preference but objectively it deserved that rating.

Even if they are using the same engine, I am sure that they have had plenty of time to overcome any limitations that the Oblivion engine may have had.

I was just reading my Playstion Underground mail, and it showed that there was a DLC for Dead Space - a new suit for Isaac for 2.99.

Now I love added content, but does anyone know if its worth it to get it (no im not cheap, I just would like to know whether its a good suit, or should I go buy another song for Rock Band :) )

GS is biased as hell, shouldn't they review both versions at the same time!!!!! and i am sure the PS3 version will have less score not because the version is worse but GS wants the PS3 version look the worest

I sure hope they wont be biased, considering that EA has said on record that this game was being developed on the PS3 for the most part because they wanted both systems to have the exact same experience. They have pretty much guaranteed that both games will be identical in every way.

So, if GS decides to say that the 360 version is better in any way, then we all know for sure that these guys are all xbox 360 fanboys.

what makes me UBER UBER UBER depressed is that i wont be able to play it until tomorrow. :( every store i have checked (Best Buy, Walmart, Target, Gamestop) has told me that they wont get their shipments until tomorrow. :( its worth the wait, but how crappy.....lostsoulsofmn

Apparently i'm not a "real" gamer. I went to gamestop and best buy only to discover that just b/c it was said it was to be released on the 14th doesn't mean its in stores on the 14th. Seems a little ridiculous to distinguish between ship dates and street dates. How about just giving one date so we can get it in the stores... ? Mmmk.

they said the exact same thing to me, without the "your not a real gamer" part. I mean serious, what the hell. the RELEASE date is October 14th, today. the B****** should have shipped it yesterday so it could be released on the release date. i dont know about everyone else, but that just seems to make more sense....

That is so sad.

Those are the kind of things that I personally think discredit them as a reputable source for reviews for games. They shouldve just said "Hi I'm GameSpot, however the PS3 version of a game may look better, I'm a lame XBOX fanboy site and are going to say theirs is better"

It just seems like this site just gets worse and worse sometimes.
