so I love survival/horror games, andI been thinking about buying Dead Space, and I just wanted to know, from those who bought the game, if Dead Space is worth the money or not?

yeah I know it seems like a stupid doubt, but I have been told that the game sucks, I just wanted to be sure as possible before making any decision :)

Where i'm from (Holland) the game is already available for half the price of a new game. That definately make sit worth it I'd say.

i have bought the game 2 months ago but didnt come to play it actually :D so i dont now if its worth but i know i dont regret buying the game (yet)

YEs, it is definitely worth it. Mix the gameplay of RE4, with the movie Alien, the spooky noises of the best Silenth Hill has ever done, and toss in some force powers and you have Dead Space. As far as I'm concerned, it is the best NEW survival horror game in a long, long time and I now look forward to a sequal to DS more than any other game in the genre.

Undoubtably the best survival horror game I've ever played on any console at any time.

buy it , go to your room , close every window , door and light and play the game , you will enjoy it!.

You wont regret it.

Just buy it! The audio is creepy especially if you got a good surround system. The atmosphere of the game puts RE5 to shame. Any noise you hear has you readying your ripper and scanning the immediate area around you looking for a necromorph. The first sequence of the game is still burned into my brain. You wont be dissapointed.

It's pretty good, to me it felt like DOOM 3 in third person view. I wouldn't call it survival that much since you do have tons of weapons on your disposal.

What the game does right and superb atmosphere and sound. It definitely feels like you're going to get jumped at any time. It's more of a moment scare then horror. Play in dark room, have a pair of good headphones. ^_^

YES, I FIND THE GAME ENJOYABLE, GOOD STORY, CHALLENGING AND ADDICTIVE GAMEPLAY IMO

only thing i didnt like about it was it gets repetative after a while. other then that i thought it was pretty good

Ummm, well, being a huge fan of the old great style of Survival horror, I can say that it wont fulfill your expectations if thats what your looking for. Its not scary, its not really limited in anyway so survival never really felt all that difficult. Its a shallow representation of the genre. That being said, it's an enjoyable sci-fi action game. Probably worth the money, yes. raven_squad

Definitely get it. And don't play it on easy, it is not nearly as scary (mostly because when there a bunch of guys running at you, you can take them all down really quickly in easy).

played for the PC (not my own copy though), great great game. gonna pick it up for my PS3. yes it definently is a great horror survival game and it will scare you!

An amazing game

Hated it, why? Because it is not, that is, its NOT a SURVIVAL HORROR GAME. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise. This game is a 3rd person action adventure shooter with the occasional pop up scenes and flashing lights. Whoever would be afraid of this game i dont not know, but for one was not. Its a fine(if not a little linear) game, but its no survival horror. The puzzles are uninspired and could probably be solved by most who made it out of the second grade. I dont know if I would reccomend it or not, but just know what your buying befor you buy it, I nread in your origanel post you were a fan of survival horror games i just did not want you to make the same mistake I did.
