Well, to put my two cents in. I bought Dead Space back when it came out... That game is basically solid. It's easy to get used to and the first play through is a lot of fun. And it has some replay value. As far as Fallout 3, I have that as well. I think it may have had an issue or two but obviously it wasnt bad because I cant remember. Depends really on how much youre looking to get from the game too... Fallout 3 will keep you busy, really busy. Especially if you dont follow the main quest. I personally couldnt recommmend one over the other. But if you're down to play anything, give Fallout a shot. It's worth it.

ah thanks cause i heard in fallout 3 is open world or something Yes it is and there no right or wrong way to play the game you can go though the game atleast twice once being Good and once being EvilMy fpm (fun per minute) was higher in Dead Space than Fallout 3 but Fallout 3 is a much bigger game.
Edit: It's not that Fallout 3 is bad, it's that Dead Space is great.
Dead Space is a high quality game, especially if you're a fan of RE4. Its cheaper right now, at $40, but will probably run you around 10-12 hours, and a decent reason to keep replaying.
Fallout 3, however, is an enormous game that can keep you going for dozens of hours (I ended up at about 70 hours on one character), keep in mind I played F3 on a PC, so I can't speak for any issues that are present on the PS3. Its an RPG, and you have to keep that in mind, the easiest way to describe it is Oblivion with guns, which while accurate, does cut Fallout 3 a bit short of what it really is.
I don't think you can go wrong with either title, but it really depends on what you're looking for. I recommend checking out reviews for each, gametrailers.com has some nice video reviews for both, as do gamespot and ign. Word of mouth is always great, but doing the research for yourself yields much better results.
I'm a huge RPG fan, and I own and love both Fallout and Fallout 2. I bought Fallout 3 at the midnight release, with really high hopes, and I think the game is a let down. Its just does not have thats "something" that an RPG needs to keep RPG gamers intrested. The gameplay is rather shallow, the combat is so-so, the main storyline is very forgettable, and most of the side quests are bland, however there are a few intresting things here and there. Overall I was extremely dissapointed in Fallout 3.
Dead Space is amazing. Really good game.
Both are GREAT games it just depends on what your fav genre is. Get both if you can i would go for Fallout 3 myself.-Hoax-I totally agree. :)
As far as I'm concerned Dead Space is the more fun game but Fallout 3 will get you the highest amount of playtime,
So Get Fallout 3 but Dead Space is awesome.
