Dear Sony , I have some suggestions

I know you guys are listening or at least there might be some paid employees lurking so feel free to pass these ideas along to the powers that be. If some of you Gamespot members disagree with anything then feel free to just be quiet. :P

- Release the Heavenly Sword Demo with Lair. Release the demo on PSN a bit later. Do the same with your other big games when possible.(even betas) Please don't complain Gamespot members. 

- Drop the price of the PS3  to $499 by September. You are risking the abandonment from some third parties if you don't comply. $600 is too steep for any console anyway despite its "good value". Please don't complain Gamespot members and say they can't or how much of a bargain it is. It must be done.

- Save Socom for early 2008 to start the year off well. It is all about Warhawk this year !!!!! Please don't complain Gamespot members. This makes some sense.

- Killzone better have co-op online and off and playable vehicles. If it doesn't have these things then you need to delay the game and get them in there or reviewers are going to slam this game and gamers will be bummed out. Please don't complain Gamespot members , this game is important. 

PSP related

- Release the white PSP in NA by the holiday. Blue would be a nice too. Consider limited free pack-ins too for the holiday. How about Killzone with the black PSP (help build the Killzone brand) , Daxter with the blue one , and LocoRoco with the white one (help build the locoroco universe). The PS3 price is fine at 599

If you think about what you get its WELL worth paying 599 for the system.      

 100 dollar price difference isnt going to make that much of a difference.

Sony will be fine, with the fall lineup... and next year.  

People simply hate and critic what they cannot have and want.

 I hope Sony doesnt drop the price, I spent my hard earned money on the system, and i continue to games, acces...etc

If Sony drops the price, people would find SOMETHING ELSE to complain about.... 

If its anything worth having, its worth working for ... no matter your age.

Suck it up and either dish o ut 600, or dont buy the console, your free to go with another product.

But personally i feel 600 was well worth spent.

Anyway, a price drop may come as soon as Q3/4 `08 and no, BETAS shoulnt be released for new IPs, they can build popularity in the wrong way.

Let's be honest here- the PS3 is falling QUICKLY at the price of $600. Whether it's still a good value or not is besides the point, 3rd parties are already talking of leaving.

The system needs a price drop to spur interest to stave that off, lest you want a $600 Sony-games player.

Furthermore, the attitude of "suck it up or go buy something else" is a reason no company will ever put you in charge. I'm sure Sony feels the same way- "please, go buy a 360 so our console can be total failure and we'll never recoup the cost of it." If Sony doesn't want to make money with this thing, I'm sure it would be far more appreciated if they just gave it away and went bankrupt that way.

Get rid of the Blue Ray player and just have a regular DVD player in it.  That alone could drop the PS3's price by around 100 to 200 bucks.  And Sony wouldn't have to sell the Systems at such a huge loss so they would actually be better off and maybe make some money.

Developers are making games with blu-ray in mind, so switching format now would delay more games. Switching from BD to DVD would alienate the current PS3 owners aswell. Doing that move would also mean that they did something wrong and would be taken as a weakness and their stock would take a deep plunge.

Whatever price it is on, it won't sell much because there are no killer apps out. Yes we would a minimal increase of units sold each month but that isn't enough to warrant a price drop yet.

Let me get this straight.  Ahem...You want Sony to drop the price of a product, that's already causing some severe losses on the company's part, so that they can dig themselves even deeper into the hole?  From a company's standpoint, it would be wise to find the product is actually selling, be it well, or just well-to-do, before ANY company can think of a price drop.  What would be the point in dropping the price of a product if it isn't selling as well as it should?  Besides, with the amount of technology being placed within the system itself, unless the price of said technology falls, don't expect the price of the system to fall either.

As for games releases.  You would do well to put those complaints where they actually belong.  Within the developing parties.  Not with the system, to which these games are aimed at.

As for the one citing for Sony to get rid of the Blu-Ray player?  Sure.  They can do that.  If you want a current gen system, and NOT a NEXT-GEN system.  DVD = Current Gen...Blu-Ray = Next Gen.  Get the picture?  As for the price of the Blu-Ray.  Since it's new technology, one should come to understand why the price is as it is.  And, as I said...Unless the new technology (all of the tech, not just the Blu-Ray player) unless the price drops for these items within the system, don't expect a price drop for said system.

Now, for the one saying to get rid of the Emotion Engine, Already done for the European version, as I understand it.  As for the U.S. version.  It may happen, down the road.  But, don't expect it any time soon.  Keep in mind, it's the EE that makes it possible for those of us whom still hold onto some of the last gen games, both PS 1, AND PS 2.  Thus, allowing for FULL-RANGE of backwards compatibility.  Whereas, at least to my knowledge, those systems that have had the EE stripped from them, have only but a limited number of backwards compatible games available to the system.  Some of us aren't willing to give up our games from last gen.

 Anyway, I've said my peace.  But, as was stated already before, even if there was a price drop, or this, and/or that, people will still find something, no matter how miniscule, about the system, to complain about.  So, all-in-all, it makes no difference what Sony does, people are critics.  Harsh ones at that.  And, for many, there's just no satisfying them.

Good for you, so you think 599 is a ok. I'm sure that smile of yours will be lost when the PS3 fells, and it will if they don't do something about the price by the end of 07. For me the PS3 all about the best games and to get the top games one must have a great installer base. Otherwise you might as well go for a 360.

Come to think of it I don't know why you Yanks are moaning. here in the UK we pay around $850 for the PS3 and $80/90 for the GAMES. It just makes me sick to hear all the moans.

I wouldn't mind paying $600 for the PS3. It feels like the UK/EU is subbing you Yanks on your PS3s, again...

The problem isn't paying 600$ for the console, the problem is to find enough games to justify spending 600$ while you can have almost the same for 450$

I think this lack of games issue will be over until this year's end anyay...

Developers are making games with blu-ray in mind, so switching format now would delay more games. Switching from BD to DVD would alienate the current PS3 owners aswell. Doing that move would also mean that they did something wrong and would be taken as a weakness and their stock would take a deep plunge.

I know you guys are listening or at least there might be some paid employees lurking so feel free to pass these ideas along to the powers that be. If some of you Gamespot members disagree with anything then feel free to just be quiet. :P

- Release the Heavenly Sword Demo with Lair. Release the demo on PSN a bit later. Do the same with your other big games when possible.(even betas) Please don't complain Gamespot members.

- Drop the price of the PS3 to $499 by September. You are risking the abandonment from some third parties if you don't comply. $600 is too steep for any console anyway despite its "good value". Please don't complain Gamespot members and say they can't or how much of a bargain it is. It must be done.

- Save Socom for early 2008 to start the year off well. It is all about Warhawk this year !!!!! Please don't complain Gamespot members. This makes some sense.

- Killzone better have co-op online and off and playable vehicles. If it doesn't have these things then you need to delay the game and get them in there or reviewers are going to slam this game and gamers will be bummed out. Please don't complain Gamespot members , this game is important.

PSP related

- Release the white PSP in NA by the holiday. Blue would be a nice too. Consider limited free pack-ins too for the holiday. How about Killzone with the black PSP (help build the Killzone brand) , Daxter with the blue one , and LocoRoco with the white one (help build the locoroco universe). This would be a huge spark for the PSP and it could serve as a good transition product for those that can't afford a ps3 this year. More original games too please.8)

your exspectations are definiately a bit too harsh .  . it will just take time before all of  the things you want will happen--sony is already working like hell to promote the ps3 as much as possible. i mean the deal is if u get a ps3, you should naturally exspect for their to be long waiting times for games to come out. its a brand new system. jus give it time.

If you think about what you get its WELL worth paying 599 for the system.

100 dollar price difference isnt going to make that much of a difference.

Sony will be fine, with the fall lineup... and next year.

I hope Sony doesnt drop the price, I spent my hard earned money on the system, and i continue to games, acces...etc

If Sony drops the price, people would find SOMETHING ELSE to complain about....

If its anything worth having, its worth working for ... no matter your age.

Suck it up and either dish o ut 600, or dont buy the console, your free to go with another product.

But personally i feel 600 was well worth spent.

Are you out of your mind?!  If it was $499, this system would be selling much better.  Just because people would find something else to complain about doesn't mean they shouldn't drop the price.  At it's current price the GBA is outselling the PS3.
