Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

after years of waiting for reasons to finally buy a PS4 I finally ordered one. I am not home at the moment, but I will be soon and I am really thinking about a game, that I can invest time in.

That's why I am considering getting Destiny. The reviews tell me, that it got better after The Taken King, but I am not quite sure about the Multiplayer part. I actually don't have any person in my friendlist with Destiny in it, so I am wondering how much fun it will actually be, playing it more or less alone.

How could I get the most fun out of the game?

oooooooooooooooooooooooooo yeah.

destiny kinda blew before the taken king but it is awesome now.

you don't need to group up until late game, and the ps4 community feature is awesome for that. I'm in a Giant Bomb Destiny group and in the Reddit Destiny group and I can always find people to play with.

First of all: Thank you two for your honest opinions.

Can you elaborate what the PS4 Community Feature is? Will I be able to find people to play with? I was actually never much into Multiplayer games, but I sort of want to at least try. In the end I could totally look for other players online, right?

And I am still struggling for a decision, even though I don't even need to decide.

Thanks again

something to keep in mind, the taken king completely changed the game, so people that have only played vanilla destiny doesn't really have a picture of what destiny is now.

but yeah, you can make communities on ps4, which basically just makes a message board, but you can post on there you need help with a mission, or want to group up for a raid or whatever and you will get responses real quick.

Destiny is a friends/community game, it gets boring being by yourself doing everything.

If you don't have a regular crew to do stuff with, the game gets old FAST!

DO NOT BUY IF YOU'RE PLAYING IT ALONE.

Yes, that's what I thought, too and if it's a struggle to find other players.

But the PS4 Community Feature sounds good. :)

Similar to a light MMO, you can play on your own until the end where you pretty much have to group up and do "dungeon" runs as I call them with other players. Unless you can find an active community of folks to play with, repetition is all that is left. Which is also persistent through the leveling phases.

As someone else stated, have friends to play with otherwise not a best suggestion if you enjoy single player games only or like to play alone - as the game forces you to find others if you want to play end game and some of the leveling content as well.

It's not a bad game but be sure to understand what it offers.

I would actually enjoy the Multiplayer part, because I never tried it. I'd just be curious about how easy or hard it is to actually find some companions :)

I'm currently playing it alone and it's still fun. You'll always get players drop in at any point so whether you guys are working as a team or not, they are still fighting off enemies which is helping you regardless.

My question is, I noticed no in-game voice chat? Is there a setting that has to be turned on for this?

i have played through destiny, its expansions and am playing now the taken king alone, i have missed and am missing the nightfall strikes and raids atm, however, playing through the game since the initial release, i have enjoyed it a lot, it is a solid game with a weakish story telling part...

it's ok and since the whole package is sold for around 60 usd, i'd say go for it, there are lots to do in the game, even if you are alone... :)

@chicago: Personally I think the game is fantastic. Has so many things to do. Its a game that can be done solo but best with friends. I just recently got a PS4 as well and decided on the Destiny TTK Edition (white with gold and silver writing) I love it. I have destiny on Xbox and PS4 and characters on each. Very fun game. Lots of fun. If you are looking for friends let me know because I run a community on there and are looking for new fireteam members for destiny...

One of the greatest games ever made. Certainly has/had flaws. I've been playing video games since pong/space invaders/astroids. I've literally been playing this game for the last 10 months solid, multiple hours per day. I've never invested that much time with a single game in one stretch. Not even close. Even took off work when the DLC's dropped.

Also, I've mostly soloed, but once I found a few friends online, it's even better. About done with it now, but when you figure the cost per hours played, nothing comes close.

While last of us or god of war may be better, I'm typically done with them in a week or two. Definitely don't want to miss.

I admit I don't have the Taken King and will not pay for it either. My console came with Destiny, it was nothing close to what it was cracked up to be. In the game there alot of players running around but I wouldn't say there was much communication or comradery. The missions were extremely repetitive, going from boring and mundane to daunting.I personally don't think the game is worth the exorbitant price. Even if this add on makes it less boring it's just not worth the money to me at this point.

You can play Destiny pretty much alone (campaign, Crucible etc). Raiding/Nightfall is very much a team-based event and you'll need friends/people to play with in order to get things done. You can play the Strikes in a match-making affair, which works pretty well. By a guess, Destiny is 50/50 in terms of solo/co-op play. Everything can be done in co-op (including story mode)

You are coming into Destiny at the right time. Year 1 felt iffy, but they've corrected so, so much with Taken King.
