An update to the PS3TM system software was released on March 13, 2008. If you update your PS3TM system, the system software will be version 2.17.

With all this new firmware upgrade such as 2.17 etc..... if an old PS or PS2 game had issues playing on the PS3, how much would the new firmware upgrade help?

MGS3 - Snake Eater seems to lag on my PS3
