Well, I just played it and it's awesome, although I must say not DMC3 awesome, certainly in terms of difficulty, it became a bit easier. It's a bit slower but Nero is imo better than Dante, well, his devil bringer arm is better, it really comes in handy in battle.

But now for the demo itself, there are two stages, one where you fight 3 ice monsters and then Berial (that red flaming big-ass monster in all those trailers) and that's just cool, the other one is just basic, no hard fights, no boss-fight but still pretty nice for a demo, BUT this one has a time limit, you can only play this part for 10 minutes and then it's over, and that's just dull.

Well I'm still buying DMC4 after this, it's good, awesome for a demo so I still have high hopes that DMC4 will rock although some of you claim it sucks.

I'm just concerned about the whole repeating levels thing. Seems a bit half-assed to me.

Maybe it felt easier then DMC3 because being a demo it was probably on a easy difficulty:?

I'm looking forward to this game, the Demo didn't really show much of what the game is gonna be in the end when we get the full game (why should it?). But we all know that there are going to be some kickass moments in the game, some cool combos, and stuff to unlock :D Also, i'm not worried about repetetive gameplay. Since,, all games i've played for the last 12+ years have had exactly that :D

The only thing decent was the boss fight, other than that it was pretty boring.

The problem I have with it is that it's just like the other DMC games in terms of gameplay. It doesn't even feel any different. For those who don't mind spending $60 on gameplay that's been done last generation, no problem. But I definitely won't buy it because it just doesn't feel like anything new or exciting.

I thought the demo was good. But demos hardly do a game justice,so that just tells me the game will be great. But im a big DMC fan so even by the slightest chance the game was like DMC 2(which didnt suck that bad),im still gettin it for the story.

I agree, but a lot of people will come in and say "but it's a sequal, not a new franchise, it's supposed to be the same". I literally felt like I was playing DMC3 all over again. It's like they added nothing new at all, and the horrible soundtrack doesn't help. It's just a demo though, so I'm hoping it wasn't a good representation of the final product.

I haven't played it on my PS3 yet, but I played it on my 360 and supposedly the versions are very close. Graphics I thought were great. Framerate and controls were excellent as well. The only problem I saw was the constant load times/opening doors. It just seemed to break up the game's flow for me. Go in room, see pink web, kill enemies, pink web goes away, open door, load, repeat. That's my only gripe, but for me it's a significant one.

Hey man, you're definitely right. Almost everything nowadays is just sequels or games with rehashed ideas. So all I have now is Oblivion GOTY, COD4, and MotorStorm (came with 80gb). I have a hard time letting myself spend $60 on even the higher rated PS3 games, such as how R&C's gameplay is just like all the other ones before it. So basically, I'm not even buying those games until they go down in price.

I did, however, just buy Odin Sphere for PS2, and there are probably a number of PS2 games that I will get that I haven't played. And then I'll wait for better PS3 games to come out.

I don't know about the 360 version, but for me on the PS3 version it's "open a door" and then "2-3 second load time" and that's it.

This demo didn't wow me, I mean it did feel like the other DMC games, although to be fair I never played all of the third one. Personally I might wait till this one drops in price. Too many other games coming out I need to save up for.

I'd say that it's around two seconds or less, but for me it still breaks up the game. Personally I'd rather have a 10 to 15 second load time for every 10 or 20 minutes of game play, but that's just me. It's like watching TV. I'd rather have a 4 minute commercial every 10 minutes then a two second commercial have other minute.

it is said that the game will install onto the PS3 and remove all load times. So that works even better for me. But if that wasn't an option, then i actually agree with you, now that you put it that way :P lol

I've never played a DMC title before, so this was my first experience with it. I absolutely loved it. Looks visually amazing, and the gameplay was pretty fun too. It seemed slightly repetative to me, but perhaps I wasn't exposed to everything there is to do. There also seemed to be a fair amount of loading. None of it took long at all, but every time you go in another door it would take a second or two to load everything. Again, not sure how this demo will differ from retail.

I am planning of picking it up, though... it seems fun enough. I might even get DMC3 before so I can have a little of the back story.

Those who didn't like the demo should check out these combo vids. Don't forget this is with just the basic moveset.

Really, users on here can be so stupid. Quit complaining over trivial things. Do you want DMC to change for the worse? Its perfectly fine the way it is. And im pretty sure the DB is something new and exciting. Im getting sick and tired of people moaning and groaning about how Capcom makes DMC. Because EVERYONE who does has a very retarded excuse for doing so.

This was my first experience with Devil May Cry. Although I though it was cool and it made me want to play the series, timed demos are just irritating. I want to take my time and explore, see what the game has to offer, instead I feel rushed.

everything is great and the gameplay is fun

one thing im afraid of, which is the game take place in alot of places (jungle,snow,castels,street,,mines...)

i hope that they link this places with the story and reasonable ideas.

Right, and people are stupid for having opinions? What about people like you calling others stupid? What do you call that?

Give me a break. DMC4 barely seems to be any different than DMC3. And the DMC games have never been great to begin with, just the same old combo oriented repetitiveness. This series is no different than most series where developers just churn out the same old and slap a new title on it. There is zero innovation.

I just played the first DMC a few months ago and it blew me away. This demo game felt like a copy with updated next gen textures. IS the same guy in charge on this one??? After they said multi platform I am suspicious that this is more of a cash grab than an innovative gaming experience, and this demo didn't do much to sway a favorable opinion.

Sorry but the soundtrack is awesome, the game doesn't feel like DMC3 enough to say it is just a rehash the DB adds so much more to it i couldn't play DMC3 the same again after playing this demo,

This demo has left me with a lot of hope for the final version as i loved the demo.

I'm still getting the game for sure but it wasn't quite what I expected. You know being on the Playstation 3 and what not? Where are those textures and graphical things only capable of being done on the PS3 (now 360 as well I suppose). The game didn't look as good as the very first screens shown. Where Dante was in the street slashing the TV.

The Devil Bringer doesn't bring me, pun intended, much more enjoyment than before. I suppose its fun to have an attack and is almost always unblockable. I've read some preview sites calling it a new inventive welcome. But it was lame to get an orb that allows you to fly across the room. As if there were any other way to progress through the level?

i really liked it. I need to purchase the first 3 now, even though 2 is hit or miss according to some people. But, even by the demo and not have had played any DMC, it gave me great hope after that boss battle. It reminds me of legacy of kain/GOW/ninja gaiden in a way, and I loved those series. Also, I thought the demo looked and played gorgeous.

No one has stated whether or not Nero HAS multiple styles or not, but I hope he does. The only thing I heard about Dante was that we can change his styles on the fly, so that'll be awesome.

Overall, I love this demo. This was the game that got me interested in the DMC series when I first heard about it, so I went back and luckily found the DMC 20th anniversary collection for $30, bought it, and enjoyed roughousing through it (yes, I even played DMC 2 to see what all the fuss was about, and am playing it again only 'cause...ALL my game saves are gone)....DMC 3 SE is my favorite of the series by far.

And I also love the fact that two of the voice actors in the series were former Power Rangers.

I really liked this demo... good old-fashioned hack-n-slash play, and the game is beautiful looking. That being said, I didn't play any of the other DMC games so I don't have the same amount of bias that others around here might.

The only thing concerning me about the game is the level of repetitive-ness that it might take on. I have no doubt that this game will be a hit, although there are some worries. I already pre-ordered the Collector's Edition of the game so i'm set. I knew from the start that I would be getting this game.

Does anyone feel that the graphics were rather FLAT in the demo? It feels like large beautiful bitmaps you are walking on with little environmental responsiveness? I would imagine for a game that has a huge following that the environments would have more lush graphics, more objects (trees, plants, rubbish, etc...) but instead it feels rather flat.

The demo was fun but for next gen and someone with pockets of Capcom, I felt the graphics barely got pushed... More of the same but on a better CPU/GPU. Just finished Heavenly Sword and loved the visuals, lighting, particle physics... Maybe DMC4 had to compromise so that it can look decent on the 360...

I don't like Nero's guns, I prefer Dante's dual pistols, feels faster and more of a shoot em' up style though I love Nero's glove, it's just dead useful. After playing the demo a bit, I might consider buying it, but the only thing that sparked my interest was the boss fight which was beautiful to watch and play. Load times weren't an issue, quick and easy, didn't feel like the game was loading at all.

However $60 bucks is a lot to spend just based on a demo, I hope the game provides a lengthy amount of gameplay.

I don't understand the hate towards this game. People call it repetitive and how it feels the same as the past DMC games. First off, no matter what game you play, it gonna be repetitive as some point, trust me. Secondly, DMC should never feel any different from previous installments. After playing the demo, I was relieved that it was the same feel of past DMC games. And as for the graphics, well PS3 probably could've made DMC4 look AMAZING, but Capcom had to cater to the lemmings too, what can you do? I personally think the graphics are beautiful, but isn't top-notch to what the PS3 can do.

I guess you have to appreciate games for what they are and not what you expect them to be. This gen of gamers (new and old), don't seem to understand that.
