So earlier this afternoon I was watching this video and towards the end the guy mentioned that Portal 2 will be using Steamworks and that if I buy a copy of Portal 2 for my PS3 I'll get a free copy for my PC. Did I misshear something or is this actually true?

Yes it is actually true. Enjoy having two copies for the price of one (well, one's not actually a physical copy, but it's still a great deal).

As far as PC goes, I'd rather have a Steam copy than a physical copy anyday. Steam comes with so many great perks. Also, it says that PC and PS3 players can join games together. How cool is that?

I haven't been keeping up with the Portal news, so I don't know what sort of multiplayer they're planning, but I think that online multiplayer with Portal Guns would open up brand new game types. Imagine taking your standard tilting ball maze and making it life-size and adding portal guns.

There is a caveat. It's true, but it requires you to link your PSN account and your Steam account.

No problem there. ;) I actually hope other benefits may spring from this little integration. It'd be cool if you unlocked a trophy in the game the cooresponding steam acheivement would pop as well.
