Did they ever fix the Dead Island bugs?

I rented the game a little after launch and the infamous save data but happend to me, so I decided not to buy it. I loved it, but was so bummed when that happend. Now i'm looking into getting a new game and was wondering if they fixed the bugs? If not, got any suggestions on what I should get? And god forbid, no military shooters!

yes and no. the save data bug is fixed along with many other bugs but connection seems to be a bit of problem still. If you only want to play on your own though it is fine

Just got this game. Hope it's not too bad.
