Judging by my 32 inch t.v. it's 1080i. My t.v. says that when in 1080i mode and when it's in 720p it shows 45khz and 60khz. With you having a 24inch screen there wouldn't be a difference anyway.
Yes it is. That's why I prefer to game in 720p and play movies in 1080i. HD movies look better in 1080 format. But games look better in 720p (progressive scan).

1080p. or 1200p. I think it only plays in progressive. Even if you set the ps3 to 1080i. that monitor actually has a higher resolution than 1080 p. 1920x1200. Two things might happen when you use this, You'll either have black bars on the top and bottomof the monitor or it'll strethc the image.\
It will stretch the image because it's not a 16x9 monitor (most aren't) 16x10 to be exact
