Possibly the first decent JRPG for the system! It's more of a strategy game, a la Final Fantasy Tactics, but it's an awesome series. I've played the first two and they are entertaining as all get-out.

It won't push the limits of graphics on the PS3, but I'm stoked, nonetheless. Anyone else?

Kind of old news at this point, but still awesome. I'm actually just getting around to playing Disgaea 2 (yea, finally).

Back to Disgaea 3, I came across a good preview article at hardcoregamer.com. http://www.hardcoregamer.com/index.php?option=com_magazine&id_rubrique=3&type=article&id_article=82. It's a good read, especially if you want to know about some of the newer gameplay elements and changes.

Also in the tradition of Disgaea's possibility of uber powered characters, I present to you this video I found: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Me2hOjeTgv4. Over 30 billion damage from a single attack. Damn...

As good as the game may be, it is still not worth $60.

I'm getting tired of Disagaea. Nothing has really changes much in the series and it's start to feel like it has become what it was once making fun of.

From what I've read of Disgaea 3, quite a bit has changed. Weapon masteries, learning skills by increasing a mastery, then increasing the skill's power by using it over and over... gone. Characters now learn new skills and power them up by paying mana up front for them.

Geo symbols have been replaced with geo blocks. They still have the properties of geo symbols (adding certain effects to the colored geo panel it's sitting on, but can now be stacked like building blocks. This along with now being able to toss only the top guy in a tower formation (as opposed to before where tossing a tower involved tossing the whole tower) leads to some new creative maps where utilizing these techniques in high areas is needed.

The Dark Assembly... gone too. No longer is the tedious process of bribing senators and trying to get a bill passed just to unlock the extra areas/post-game content. Your monster allies can also morph into powerful weapons for other party members to use.

This is only touching a handful of what was done with Disgaea 3. Of course at it's core it's still a grid-based strategy RPG, but if it changed that it wouldn't feel like a proper Disgaea game.

I suppose I'll buy it, I finished disgaea 1 and 2 already. But I was more fund of makai kingdom. Anyway, I suppose it'll depend on my budget, like always.

Sorry I think I wrote that rather clumsy. I meant to say that the Story in the games are getting old. I t was fun the first time but I will have to see if I can enjoy a third game in the franchise.

its going to be amazing. Chalk this one up to another overlooked amazing PS3 exclusive.

I love how they are still using sprites!!!!!!!!

(i hope their next project is a side scrolling platformer since it won't be an RPG!1!!one!!!)

I'm an RPG fan... FF is my favorite series of all time so I'm curious about this game. I've never played any of the Disgaeas before. Can anyone briefly compare it with FF? Is it at all similar Better or worse?

Actually, there is a level cap, but it's insanely high as compared to most RPGs (Level 9999 on top of the 186,000 stored levels limit from reincarnating the character over and over). Check the video I linked on the first page for some insane character strength someone in Japan made.

Minus the in-depth story of FFT, and add some quirky humor.
