Is it just me or is there to many games that are too short. Paying full price for half a game is just taking the consumer for granted. Games like Uncharted Drakes Fortune, Stranglehold and Amry of two are all good games but way to short. Also asking the user [YOU AND ME] to pay more for Download content that they could of easily of packaged with the original game. Am I alone on this or do other poeple agree. Latley i've just been a bit angry at the promises we was made but we got last gen gameplay with next gen graphics. Don't get me wrong there is alot of good games out there but far to many that fail to deliver what we pay for.

i agree on the paying for extra stuff becuase i just forked over 60$ if you want to keep the consumer you should be willing to give up the goods like burnout paradise lots of free cool stuff. I feel your pain but the games still sell so what can you do,

A change of gen does not imply an increase in game lenght. PSO games where already at 8 hours, PS2 games where there, and current games are STILL there.

of gen doesn't mean longer game lengh, but why not sell the a bit cheaper, knowing that the experience isn't going to last as long.

I think that games are actually getting shorter. It seems like developers are creating so many FPS games so that they can skimp on the single player and just throw us into multiplayer maps. I was disappointed by Heavenly Sword and Ratchet & Clank. And if it weren't for the cutscenes MGS 4 would be right there with them.

I was satisfied with Assassin's Creed just because I enjoyed searching out the flags and finding all of the hidden stuff. I'm still enjoying GTA 4 because there's enough to do outside of the missions. And Criterion has worked hard to keep Burnout Paradise fresh.

For me it's been a mixed bag.

Blu-ray movies sell for $20-$30 dollars, and only last for about 2 hours. And movie tickets cost about $10 dollars, and that's for a one-time viewing. So I really don't see how paying $60 for a 12 hour experience like Uncharted is a rip-off.

Yeah, in some ways it definitely feels like games are shorter and seem kind of hard to justify a $60 price tag.

So far to me, the only games that were worth $60 IMO were MGS4, Oblivion, DMC4 and CoD4 (if you want to count the online portion)

I agree to a certain point with your complaints of game length, but at the same time alot of the shorter games I really enjoyed. Heavenly Sword and Uncharted are two of my favorites of this gen. I do think that a lot of FPS are getting cut short this gen or single player is just getting the backseat treatment. Personally I hate when reviews basically say the single player sucks, but the multiplayer is so great and get high ratings. Personally I don't play all my games multiplayer. I buy games mainly for the single player experience. To me multiplayer is just icing on the cake for a game unless of course the game is multiplayer only. At the same time I would rather have a shorter game that is fun all the way through than a game that becomes very repetitive just to tack on added play time.

Well incase you forgot, to make games this gen is costs the same amount as a small hollywood movie. Developers need to recover the cost some where such as cutting corners in a game, charging for DLC, and making games multiplatform. In terms of gameplay length, nothing has changed since PS one days. Games back then were even shorter, the only games that have great length are RPGs.

MGS4 is pretty good. Also, Metal Gear Online is free but okay.

I dont have a problem with it yet. Assassin's Creed was ridiculously short but there wasn't any extra, pay-per play on psn for it. But then again, it was almost an interactive movie so i'm not sure.

I have no problem with game length as long as there isreplayability and the experience was fun but yeah I hate this trend of pay for DLC, having to pay the price of a small game for a few maps or whatever is BS especially when the content was around before the release of the game.

I couldn't agree more. I still like some of the short games gameplay, but i am annoyed that the length of some hyped up games is so short and the gameplay is just like that of the ps2 or ps1. It angers me when games are labled next gen when they come out on every format possible. take the tomb raider games for example, so much possibilty yet scaled down the next gen graphics to fit onto the ds or the ps2. Its a shame thats all.
