I think it's a cool concept, but it all depends on how Sony can pull it off.
Sharing music, photos, videos, and trophies in your private pad with all of your PSN friends could be potentially awesome.
If you can jump into online multiplayer games seamlessly, then it would basically function as a 3D Home version of the party system that most online games have - that would be great as well.
Also, going to a public arcade spot or a bowling alley in a 3D virtual world could potetntially be the 3D Home equivalent of flash games like on Addictinggames.com which would be amazing.
Doing other things like watching game trailers and movie previews in 3D would be a nice touch.
The potential is there, but if Sony messes it up by putting too many restrictions on what is available and what we can and can't do, then it'll become just another gimmick to sell consoles and to give Sony a platform to advertise more.
However, if it lives up to its potential, it could be far more than a gimmick and it could actually be considered innovative.
