Then I would. That and as you said, Blu-Rays are quite expensive (in NZ as well).evil_angel74But Au is more expensive ;)
I tried that for a few movies, the difference between a compressed HD download and a uncompressed Bluray is huge...at least to me.I mostly download HD versions of movies instead.

Yep. Same here. Almost every Friday and Saturday night.
I've only got 7 Blu ray movies, but when I watch them, it's definitely on my PS3. since I don't have anything else to play them on :P I tend to watch a lot of obscure, low budget movies, so most of them aren't available on Blu ray. As time goes by though, more and more of them are becoming available, so my collection will keep growing; albeit slowly.

u clearly have not been to JB hifi currently. 2 for $20. i work there and get them a little cheaper. on new realse they are the cheapest the movie will be until 6 months later. star trek and Avater were both $25 on new release. a lot of great movies now under $20.
The thing is, Blu-rays are about $50 in Australia.FurryAdventurerWhich is why i only watch/buy DVD's.. dont bother with Blu Rays cause they are so expensive.
I'm actually just beginning to watch Blu-Rays on my PS3. Bought a 2 films a couple weeks ago, and I plan on building up my collection in the future.

Im in the same boat dude . I might go to Best Buy today to get a few movies...or order some off Amazon which ever I prefer ...
Not really. I started to build a nice collection of blu-rays, but then realized I still needed to have a copy of the same movie on DVD to play on all the other players used by my family. Now I pretty much only buy blu-rays when they are packaged with a DVD copy in the case.
I've also found that on my 42" Bravia that up-converted regular DVDs look pretty darn close to BDs. So I guess until BD prices drop, or I can get a BD player in more of the stuff we use I'll just stick to DVDs for the time being, unless of course it's a combo pack.

Man you people in Oz just get screwed left and right don't you...that's messed up.
Is it the taxes or what causes the prices to be so high? I mean I know they have to ship stuff there, but most stuff is made in China and shipped everywhere else these days anyway.
Well at least you have some good weather.
I've never watched a Blu Ray yet but I will probably rent something next week and check it out. Reccomendations?
