do you think MGS Rising will be as good as MGS4?

i got mgs 2 days ago, and wow i clocked 12 hours so far in the SP, i got the game thinking it was gonna be decent, wasnt really a big fan of mgs, but the game... pure amazing, i cant stop playing, so today i seen MGS Rising on GS, and wondered, sense its comming out for both PS3 and X360, wont the game have to be cut down so it can fit on a xbox disk? do you guys think Rising could live up to MGS4's 10 out of 10?.

If any game deserves 10/10 it's MGS4. As for Rising, who knows. I'm sure it will be good, but It's hard to imagine it being as epic as 4 was. With the new engine they are saying it will look even better than 4, so that's good.

I don't really think they'll be same. Though info so far is limited, but the impression I got was it's going to be an action type of game. Whereas, MGS1/2/3/4 were all stealth games.

We don't know anything yet. But my guess is that it won't be like MGS4 in terms of gameplay.

As much as I love the MGS series, I hope this will fail enough to make Kojima take a break from MGS and make that damn ZOE sequel.hazelnutman

Actually, I was kind of counting on his whole "passing the torch" speech and see what new direction the Metal Gear franchise will go without Kojima and Solid Snake/Big Boss/Raiden.

i predict 9/10 and im sure it will be on more than one disc for the xbox, anyway you play as Raiden who we all know is the biggest bad ass in that game.

It's a possibilty. We won't be seeing any game get a 10 for awhile though.

As good as MGS4, highly unlikely. Kojima did mention its still tactical espionage action, but it appears to be more action oriented. I am not excited about this one.umair_s51

It's not Tactical Espionage Action. Metal Gear Rising is "Lightning Bolt Action". Look it up.

I hope it's just as good. I don't want to crawl through fire though... that was sad.

Kojima isn't fully involved and he seems a little reluctant to do the project. I do hope it's good though. I still don't like the idea of it being multi-platform, but Raiden is my favorite character!

I hope it's just as good. I don't want to crawl through fire though... that was sad.

But if that's the case, how exactly did Snake "block it" from frying? Since Snake moved much slower than the Mk.2, it spent more time waiting for Snake..:lol:

no it will not be as good as MGS4. two reasons:

1. Kojima is not directly involved....

2. Raiden is the main character...

It wont be as good without Snake, (to me) but that doenst mean I wont play it. It will still probably be a great game. But when i played MGS4, the first time last year.... i dont think anything could be as good as that.

i dont know thats a hard one rising is going to be awesome because you get to play as raiden but i dont think that it could beat mgs4

No way. It will be the lowest rated Metal Gear Solid game ever made IMO. No kojima (like before), a different style gameplay, etc. It just won't have that "it" factor that makes the MGS series so epic. I predict it will get somewhere around a high 7 to low 8 in most major reviews. Which by no means is a "bad" game, just not as good as the others

Well, it really depends where the rating comes from. The only thing that I think about with Rising is "I hope they don't screw it up". Since (I guess) this would be the first "Metal Gear Ninja Game" that people have wanted since MGS1 (though they wanted it to be Gray Fox)

Personally, I think Rising will be very good, but it cannot surpass Metal Gear Solid 4. That game was really fun, IMO.

Well it's not like there is a whole new team making it. The man in charge of Rising co-directed/wrote MGS4 and was the director/writer of the amazing Zone of the Enders 2: The Second Runner, so I think it's in safe hands.

Personally for me Rising will be better, the character you play as is a huge thing to determining a good game for me and I just don't like Snake, Raiden is a brilliant character though so i'm looking forward to playing as him. From a game reviwers point of view though I think Rising wont do anywhere near as good as MGS4.

I don't think it will I don't really care for Raiden I think MGS4 will still be better mostly because Hideo Kojima worked on it the main reason why I like MGS is because of Snakes character it's just a shame MGS4 was the final game with Snake been the main character.
