I don't mean the actual game itself but the people you play with, outside of clans. A lot of gamers have microphones but very few seem to utilise them for conversation to talk to other players on their team or in the lobby. Are we PS3 gamers a shy bunch or do we have nothing to say? Would you like it to be more social or do you prefer the silence?

I know exactly what you mean. That's why i don't like playing console games online so much. PC games I talked all the time over TeamSpeak and Ventrilo. But, I dunno, over the PS3, people are shy or don't have mics or something.

It is usaually very quite. I think it's because Bluetooth headsets are so uncofortable after about 10min. That's why Xbox Live has a ton of people with mics, becauese the headset sits outside your ear, not in it and you can have it on for hours and it's fine.

I have a mic for my friends only. Most of the time i don't want to talk to random people who only want to talk trash and yell cuss words because they can't play the game.

I find that talking online is a bash fest or trash talk fest. It's nothing enjoyable or productive 90% of the time.

i dunno, i like talking to people while playing the game, it just gives it a better feel. although, it's probably true there are more douches on psn than on your PC games.

It's a bit too quiet. I have a headset but I don't turn it on unless there are other people with them. Maybe that's the problem!

I've been playing Bad Company 2 online since it was released and out of lets say 50 matches (idk exactly how many matches I've played) I've only came across 3 people talking on there mics. I'm not into conversating that much, but in a game like bc2 where you're suppose use teamwork I expected more people to use mics.

I play on LIVE because of the dead silence in PS3 multiplayer games. One thing Sony dropped the ball on is not making a good standard headset that's cheap and easily obtainable. I only use my PS3 for single player exclusive games..multiplat games like COD I play on another console.

Yeah it is.

I like it better that way. Too many people talk then some idiot thinks he's cool enough to change voice to a squeak and just wail.

**** online communicating.
