They are not cheap, but they are not expensive either:Djtdawg23I dont mind the price on some games. though i do hate how the price Increses evrey time a new console comes out. I miss paying 19.99 back in the the days of the psx. But you know what can you do

Yea finally our dollar is worth something ... lol.
Regardless of how good the game is, yeah it does get expensive, the extra $10 definetly adds up.
Think about it, I got 8 disc games for PS3, that's $80 more I spend than what I would've when games were $50. So it definetly adds up.

The only time playstation games were ever 19.99 was either if they were horrible and didn't sell, and stores were trying to dump stock, or if they were on the Greatest Hits list, which I believe meant they were out for a year and sold over a million? I assume they will have PS3 greatest Hits as well, but since the console just hit 1 year, no games qualified till now. Resistance greatest hits coming soon? Guess we'll see.
Anyway Super NES games used to be 50-70 new, and most consoles even back to NES new games have always been 30-40. Factor inflation in and guess what? Console games aren't any more expensive than they ever were. I guess the difference is maybe now you are paying for them instead of your parents?
Yes they are expensive
But that's inflation for you, everything is expensive
Gas prices bother me more

Exactly, 60 bucks for a game is nothing next to 3-4 dollars for one gallon of gas. It takes more to fill up my tank than to buy a new game.
59.99 is expensive, but 74.99 was worse for SNES games back in the early nineties. I remember paying that for Mortal Kombat 2, and paying 79.99 for final Fantasy 3motherboop
Holly **** almost $80 for a SNES game lol

360 Games are Cheaper :(hilltops
...No they aren't, unless it's like 59.74 vs. 59.99. Actually, The most expensive game I have ever seen for any system, except for rock Band, that comes with THREE specialized controllers (Guitar, Drums and Mic) is an Xbox game. Halo 3 Legendary edition FTL!!! Special Edition games should be AT MOST 10-15 dollars more, and they usually STILL aren't worth the extra.
$80-$100 for a PS3 game in my country  it is expensive as hell ! glenn2709
I dont know what your circumstances are. or what sort of income you pull, but if games were that much for me, i just wouldnt be gaming
No. I mean compared to other habits. Like drugs for example. $60 bucks will will buy you a few grams that'll last like a day. Or you could buy a $60 video game that last's from 10-50(some 100+)hours and have replay value. Then theirs multiplayer and online which goes on for a long time. So no this is pretty cheap.:D(I don't do drugs)Vyse_Legends
I love your logic. Seriously. (and no, I'm not being sarcastic. And I don't do drugs either.)

sad, but thats how expensive it is end up i have to trade games from my friends or buy 2nd hand games.
in australia its $109 for new games ( and kinda old ones), and down to $80 for really old onesReldas89
I always hear about how expensive games are in Australia, but how do they compare to other things? What's the cost of gasoline, or the average cost of living expenses, rent and utilities and such? What's the average monthly income? Like in Japan, something that costs a few dollars will cost hundreds of yen, but at the same time, someone who makes a few hundred dollars US in America in a week would be making many thousands of yen. So my question is, because I really have no idea, while a game costs twice as much Aus dollars as US dollars, how does it compare as far as % of income?
