Does Anybody Else Think The Darkness Is Really Underated?

Does anyone else feel that The Darkness is really underated?

I mean, sure. It's graphics aren't the best and I haven't been able to find a single game online, but I found the single player campaign really fun.

It's a decent length and overall, really enjoyable.

I would have been annoyed if I had payed full pirce for it considering it has pretty much no replay value apart from the online which I haven't been able to try.

But it is really cheap now and I think it's a great purchase for a PS3 owner looking for a cheap, but great game.

Does anyone agree?

I mean come you have the mafia, demons, and shadow worm things that eat peoples hearts to give you more power. What's not to love?:lol:

The single player experience in The Darkness was absolutely amazing. Even though it was an FPS game, it just had this different atmosphere that set it apart from other games in the genre. My really only complaint was towards the end of the game I just felt so powerful, the enemies hadn't gotten much tougher, so it seemed like the last few pats of the game were easy. Regardless I stil enjoyed the experience as a whole.

As far as being underrated, I am not too sure on that. When the game first came out it recieved great reviews, and was one of the best games at the time. But now, like most great but not exceptional games, it has become forgotten

Play Bioshock...its a sick game. Its not out for PS3 yet, but it is a TRUE game that keeps you entertained.the_dark-knight

I must agree that Bioshock delivers with near perfection a similar atmosphere to The Darkness. But I never expected much when I picked up this game for $19.99 and it's blown me away so far. It's a blast to run around killing people, eating their hearts, etc. The story is actually one of the better I have played lately (not counting MGS4), and the voice-acting for the darkness makes me want to keep playing by itself :).

Awesome game, though it has some dips in framerates, it's still a great game. Gamespot actually gave it a pretty good score, 8.5 I believe.

I just got this 2 days ago for $20. Seems good for the price and so far it's fun. Although I agree, the graphics are not the best and the motion and fluidity, seems a bit off for me. Damn COD4 and Resistance ruined all other FPS for me too.DJCUEBALL

See my main thing is that I don't even really consider this an FPS. I think of it more as an adventure game in which one of the tools you use is a gun :).

I also enjoyed The Darkness. You guys are right about the ending being not too great, but take this into consideration....

way under-rated but i thought the graphics were also great only downfall is online and the story alittle weird.
