Does anyone else see a potential problem with RE5?

Upon seeing the Resident Evil 5 trailer, everything looked beautiful, but I see a problem that could bring out the likes of Al Sharpton in droves......did anyone else notice that you're playing as a white guy slaughtering a bunch of african zombies? I don't know about you, but I honestly think if a big enough issue is made from that point, there could be a problem with RE5 ever being released.

Yo, why is this even a topic? This is the second topi, I've seen take the racial issue road since last night. Look, yea it's in Africa & yes there's a caucasian shooting/punching african americas, but people.....it's a game. How do you think aliens feel when they pick up on our signals of resistance? LOL. Stop blowing this out of proportion & lets get back to our gaming state of mind. We're all gamers here African American, caucasian, asians, hispanics etc..., so lets grow up and leave that crap in the past where it belongs.

Until I read this I never even thought about this. But what is the difference between killing Africans on this and Mexicans on GRAW? You play as a white guy killing Hispanics on that. People just need to get over there racist ideas because people are different, whether it be in personality or skin tone. There are good white guys and good black guys, but there are bad black guys and bad white guys.Iagree many blackpoliticians will make a big deal out of this, but this isn't Rockstar making the game haha. The same BS keeps re-surfacing when something like this happens, and itwithin itself is racist. pointing out things like this means that you see these differences, but that in some way you still feel uncomfortable accepting them. Man i am black and i dont find the game in any way racist. It's no different from Leon blasting Europeans in RE4, it just happens to be in Africa or wherever it is. The game looks way more scary aswell and a lot more realistic in ways of physics and the facial features and how the overall people interact. Looks promising and scary. It is said that the game will be the same length if not longer then RE4 and the story will have just as many plot twists and character surprises as its predessor so thsi game is lookin hot so far and im definetly buying it! on ps3 or xbox 360 i own both and i really couldn't care what system i buy it for.

Slavery has nothing to do with anything. Saying that black people shouldn't be portrayed as victims or enemies in videogames simply because the modern black generation's grand-parents used to be slaves is an irrational sentiments by a discriminative individual.

Even if one were to actually listen to such a ridiculous idea as your own, you'd still have to ignore the fact that black people are the first ones who started slave-driving black people. Do you realize that Africans are the ones who sold slaves to Americans?

Furthermore: Various Spanish and Asian cultures employed slave labor that just wasn't decided as notable in history because most were third-world. I myself am descended from the Irish and Scottish, two cultures that were once upon a time under the heel and absolute control of England (see also: Prima Nocter). Then, needless to say, there's the Jews. By your reasoning, it would make sense not to portray anyone of these races as victims and/or enemies.
