I have neither right now but i almost got a 360 the other day just so i could play halo 3 on it when it comes out and i was planning on getting a ps3 later on in the year since they might have a 50 to 100 dollar price drop(if you dont believe me it was on IGN.com). if somebody has both will you tell me what you like about each one and which one has the better online as of now and is it worth owning both(no fanboy answers plz)???????

A lot of PS3 owners also own a 360. They are the rich ones or have generous parents.

I currently own a PS3 ...

Will be buying a 360 end of this year or start of next year ...

imho the exclusives both offer and the small differences in multiplat games make owning both systems worth it ...

360 right now is better than PS3 in most aspects. It has a wider selection of games, xbox live is way better than PS3 online, at least right now, and achievements are quite addicting. I think PS3 has more potential than the 360 though, and in a few years could really take the lead. Right now, Ps3's multimedia features and its very open, loose media options are awesome, as I have all my music and videos on my ps3, which I got on really easily. Plus it has some cool, though currently pointless uses with the PSP, and the web browser, blu ray player, built in wireless, and 60 gb hd are big selling points. If you like both and you want to get one of them soon while waiting to get the other, get the 360 now and wait on a PS3.

I own both consoles.  Xbox Live is a credit to the 360 and is truely the better on-line service,  although PSN is free and tends to be less laggy then Xbox Live.  Xbox Live is packed with demos movies and other downloads including voice chat in every on-line game,  PSN has these just not as many.  Also IMO the Xbox Live Arcade is reason enough to purchase a 360.  Systems itself Xbox 360 was VERY well thought out.  It's OS has awesome features such as checking messages, friends, and a MP3 while in any game.  The Xbox Dashboard just has a flow to it not found on the PS3.  While the PS3 tends to be less user friendly I can honestly say I can tell a noticable difference in graphics with the PS3 showing more next gen.  Only complaint I have with my PS3 is how the friends list seems almost non function in none of the games I have use it.

In short, If I could only have one console it would be the Xbox 360 but owning both is well worth it.

quite simply the ps3 is a better quality machine. it runs faster (loads faster), is way quieter, dosent over heat, comes with wirless router, basically a well rounded machine. my brothers 360 is quite noisy, looks less appealing graphically, and dosent have wirless, and takes a long time to load. right now the xbox has a bigger variety of games than the ps3, the only good point i have for the xbox 360. i suggest u get the ps3, it's just better

I own an Xbox 360, a PS3, and a Wii, and that is currently the order in which they are my favorites/played.  I love Sony, and the PS2 was by far my favorite last-gen, but I'd be stupid to be a fanboy and not get other systems.  Right now, the 360 is better than the PS3.  If I didn't have a 360 I would've missed out on Mass Effect, Dead Rising, Kameo, Gears of War, Bioshock(don't have a good PC), Viva Pinata, Crackdown, Shadowrun, and Mass Effect.  Oh yeah, and those sweet Burger King games.

Oh yeah, and I've got a job, bought all my systems; well, my g/f got my 360 for me for our 3 year anniversary (it came out on the same day, that was nice).

own 360, ps3, and a wii.. havent turned my wii on since i beat Zelda, PS3 is good for god of war and motorstorm..resistance is kinna blah, xbox 360 has the upper hand right now..Although i will admit that motorstorm via HDMI is impressive. Xbox live over PSN anyday of the week ..but hey its free. The sole purpose i bought a ps3 is because of MGS4 hopefully i will get some more awesome games but i will be satisfied with that. No im not rich

Well, I would have to say that the 360 is my 1st string gaming machine  ( FOR THE MOMENT)while my ps3 is the main media hub. XBL has the better online service, but the PSN is slowly getting better.

Most people say "buy a 360 now and wait for the ps3 to have a price drop". Logically speaking, the 360 will have a price drop before the ps3 does. Once the revised black 360 comes out, you can bet on the old 360 dropping in value very quick. The PS3 has already been confirmed by Sony as not seeing a price drop til potentially mid '08. There is only 1 good game on the 360 and that's Gears of War. Every other game could be played elsewhere or is just not good enough to warrant buying the system. Likewise, the ps3 only has Resistance (unless you are a fan of motorstorm) and the rest are multiplat. It's pretty much whatever floats your boat. Personally, the ps3 in my eyes will always be the better value due to multimedia capabilities including blu-ray which is an asset if you will be using the system on a nice HDTV. Goodbye DVD.

If I had the money then I would... But in my situation it was either one or the other so I had to sacrafice my 360 to GameStop and use the money to get a PS3. I'm extremely happy with my choice but my 360 was still pretty fun. I lost many of my hours to Saints Row.

I own both Xbox360 and the PS3. My 360 stays in the living room where all my friends gather around to play some Halo, and my PS3 resides in my room where I play Resistance and Motorstorm. Sometimes one of my friends brings over one of their TVs to my room so we can team up in those games.

It's nice having both systems, with a variety of games to choose from.

Yep!! That's was one of the selling points for me getting my ps3 at launch, I could use it as a stand alone media hub without any additional hardware. That's why I'm not frustrated by the lack of games for the ps3, because I have so many other thing I'm using it for. I do have a PC, but I mainly use it for work.

The 360 was built for today and they have a decent amount of games. They also have a better online service. The PS3 was built for the future. As of right now they have a limited amount of games, online service is still a work in progress. Both are good systems and I enjoy them both(even though I have turned on my 360 only twice since the launch of the PS3;once was to play the GRAW2 Demo) and I am glad I have them. If your a patient person then the PS3 is the way to go, but if you want good games now, a great online service(that you have to pay for) then the 360 is your road. Can't go wrong with either choice....
