I just beat MGS4. It was so intense and awesome! I can't describe the how I felt while playing it. I'm sure you guys also felt it. :)

Does GTA4 also has this feeling when you played it? I might buy a used GTA4 for $38. I heard GTA4 is not that good. Does playing MGS4 before GTA4 make it worse?

MGS4 is a level above GTA. A lot of my friends said they got tired of GTA because the mission got repetitive. I haven't even finished playing it since i got MGS and I haven't touched it since i beat MGS now all i play is FIFA MGO and Warhawk with a little bit of SSHD in the middle. I think to answer you question is you should have played GTA first

You probably should have played GTA first.

No it does not have the same feeling at MGS4, but it still a very enjoyable game. I would get it for $38. Once you get further into the game, it is quiet fun. And the first time you shoot a gun at an enemy in the game, it feels very cool.

GTA4 is worth $38, but it didn't "wow" me. It's really a step-back for the series; more like GTA3 with more polish. But with the game engine now built and the fact that they're more familiar with the development environment, the next one should be much better. This one is short of greatness, however.

I regret buying GTA. It was so dull. It's not GTA. It's a idea that was lost...GTA:SA was the best. All these things they are praising GTA4 for with it lacking all the things I have known to come and expect from Rockstar? When they claim Graphics are better, gun fights are better, physics are better. But I remember when GTA wasn't known for graphics, better gun fights. It was known for you becoming the person you are playing. Getting lost in what made CJ, well CJ. No car mods...No buisness owning...Not even giving Niko a new haircut...It's repetative and sad. It was overhyped so much that they were to worried about doing the things that made it great. Since now everything is more mainstream and multiplat...I doubt I willl buy another GTA game again and that saddens me

I was hyped for GTA4 and loved playing it _BUT_ then I played MGS4. As soon as I started playing MGS4 I lent my copy of GTA4 to a friend, I'll get back to it one day. For me MGS4 has set the bar so damn high, I just hope every other developer sits up and takes notice, we all know now what the PS3 is capable of, I WANT MORE!

GTA4 is pretty enjoyable, not as bad as Assassins Creed tho! lol the story line is allrite however GTA4 Online multiplayer IS SOO ADDICTIVE. i kept playing the multiplayer over and over again! never get bored of it, its only $30 somethin..just go ahead and buy it....u got nothing to lose...

Maybe you havent played Vice City. I think it was much better than SA. It didnt have car mods, character customization, and the gun fight mechanics wer epretty bad. It still beat SA because it had better characters, a better storyline, better design, better mood etc.

lol not even close. That game was a major disappointment and got dull FAST. The story was cliche, the missions were repetitive, and the options available to you were a step down from previous entries in the series. I really had to force myself to even finish the game.

I really can't think of another game that captures the same feeling as MGS4... which is why I'm just going to keep playing MGS4 over again. :P

It's a totally different game. No you won't get the same feeling you did playing MGS, but it's a decent enough game anyway.

I played all and it's a matter of taste. You prefer Vice City, I prefer San Andreas. I like it for it's features and the story was well driven. Vice City was great, but it just felt like a Scarface reinactment. Which was fine, but SA gave me a diffrent perspective. But feature wise, SA was more diverse. Vice City was great still and is one of my favorites.

NO

They are two completely differnt type of games and stories. MGS4 out shines GTAIV. I rate MGS4 9.9 and GTAIV 8.9.

One game is about stealth and the other striaght up brawl and shooting.

GTAIV isn't the same. I haven't played MGS, but I think it's a lot different. The missions DO get a little repetitive in my opinion, and it gets sorta boring. Although, it's still an awesome game. I'd get it used like you said. I'm still trading mine in though. Online just doesn't work for me.

They're completely different games, one is mindless/mass killing, one is sneaking around. They are both great games for their kind, but liking MGS4 won't necessarily mean you'll like GTA4.

From the little I've played of GTA4, I've got to agree with you. It just felt hollow and without that X-factor present in MGS4, which I believe is the most technically advanced game so far this generation.
