Games still run the gamut of length. Some developers are wrongly toying with the idea of downloadable content over content at release but the majority are still making games just as long as they need to be to accomplish their goal.
Well, you can't really expect much games to be longer off the bat (especially launch titles)
Oblivion is said to be 100+ hours (which I'm looking forward to picking up this game) cause I like long games myself

Only gripe I have with COD3 is there's no unlockables that involve the game itself. I've already beat the game, and I've watched the 3 soldier interviews (which were great to listen to may I add) but that's it. Aside from online and attempt the harder modes, there's not much replay value, or nothing to look forward to comming back into the single player game. Like maybe even have the German side of things is a unlockable mode or something, anything would be fine.Â
resistance might be considered short if you play it on easy, but even on medium it'll take you a solid 10-15 hours to get through it, and you need to play through it twice to unlock all the weapons.
games are getting rediculously shorter now days. i think its pretty crappy that we now have to pay 10 extra dollars for games that sure, look nice, but play for half the time of a last gen game. i unerstand productions values are up and all, but if developers would make a great game instead of putting out short mediocre ones, they might sell more, in turn making more money and not have to worry about the production values as much. a majority of the game sthis gen are IMO becoming very half assed.

Thank you and that's my worst fear. Also the thing I don't understand is if a company pays for advertisements in a game that should help with the cost. I see no excuse for a short games if theirs advertisement in them. Hell advertisements are what pays for all the T.V shows we watch so whats the excuse for video games.
i already have 30+ on oblivion....and i feel like im nowhere to being done with the game......still only done like 2 parts of the main quest which is apparently 50+ on its own......that and im doing fighters guild quests, quests for common people, and then im going to join the mages guild....1st char is doing that and he is going to have pure fame and 0 infamy......already made 2nd char and making him a dark elf vampire perfect for sneaking around and stuff and he is going to have pure infamy and hopefully 0 fame.....lol two extremes... by the time im done with all that it will be close to summer....and i might get bored in the summer so im going to make a mage then.....

to the topic how are games getting shorter??? fps are generally short in the campeign....thats why there is online.... and if your looking for a long campaign get oblivion.....
