I have a 32" sony sdtv. I'll have a ps3 in about 3 weeks, but I don't want to miss out on the HD details. I've thought about getting a 26" HD just to play ps3 on.

Yes. At first, when I bought my PS3 I didn't have a hdtv and I was impressed how great it looks on sdtv. After I got the hdtv I was amazed by the quality. And the 26'' you want to buy is just right, because it's big enough and it's cheap. I have a 26'' hdtv 720p/1080i.

But, I used SDTV for a month or two... I thought it wasn't bad. You definately could notice a great enhancement in detail from previous generations atleast. An HDTV juts makes it more crisper to look at I find, especially if you are using a CRT because I always found CRT's have more washed out color compared to most LCD's.

I also have a 32" sony sdtv and it looks great. Does your tv accept component input cause that'll make the colours look better.

It does have the green, yellow, blue inputs whatever they're called. I currently have my ps2 hooked up to my tv with s-video, but I figure the ps3 connected with these new inputs will look pretty good.

watch a DVD movie on a 26" widescreen tv and you'll be able to see much more of the movie.

It looks great on an SDTV, however, it looks even better on an HDTV.

i've hooked up my ps3 to both HDTV and SDTV and they both look awesome. SDTV was surprisingly still really awesome looking. obviously it will always be better on a HDTV but don't worry if you don't own one.

HDTV looks amazing and SDTV still looks leagues better than ps2. The only crappy part about playing in sd is that sometimes details in the hud, xmb, and writing can be extremely difficult to read.

Jump into a pool and open your eyes underwater. Now get some goggles, and look underwater. Its just like that.

My TV is 480i and I thought was okay, but when I visit gamestop and check the demos on HDTV I know how much I been missing.
