Does Square Enix no nothing?

They should not remake classics. A classic stays a classic and if its remade, its like having a sequel to a movie like scarface.

^^^ Well i enjoyed FFX the most out of all of them cuz it's the only one i played besides 12... 12 was innovative but it didnt really have any emotion involved in it.. and a FF7 would be fine in my opinion because i never played the original and i doubt i would have the patience for the graphics.... lol but uhhh the movie was so awesome and that's what got me liking FF7... i mean the fight scenes in the movie were without a doubt the best fight scenes i've seen... everrrr lol.... sooo yea KH2is likemy favorite Square Enix title... lol .... it's confusinghow Sora slept for like a year and when he came out he was like 50 times better than he was in number 1.... ehhh lol w.e ha ha ha

Regarding the miniseries argument: FFIX sadly enough was the last real Final fantasy. The reason why there called FINAL Fantasy, is because every iteration, before X, was about the end of that stories world. And were Final. Technically no there not spinoffs being that they are gonna be planned. But the fact remains Final Fantasy, by the meaning of the title, is dead. Long dead and gone. FFX-2 was the birth of something horrible and sick. FFXI isnt even a final fantasy. FFXII is Final Fantasy Tactics world making it a new low in Square's past. and the fact that theyre milking VII for every penny its worth tells me that the company has lost every hope of redeeming itself and giving us a NEW idea thats worthy of our money and expectation. Stop waiting forFFXIII, even b4 Square was sold to this new company called Square Enix, it NEVER met a deadline in order to make the fans hype it up themselves, saving them any kind of commercial expense.

So in short, No there not spinoffs, there expected loss of any value the Square name has earned with SCE by the money grubbing mega corporation named Square Enix.

it's not a spinoff because they have different characters and plots, although they're in the same universe. Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy 12 are in Ivalice but they're not spinoffs. Anyway I agree with the poster that rather than all the dumb mediocre spinoffs they should've just made a Final Fantasy 7 remake...probably would've sold more than all the spinoffs combined haha...

12 isnt a spinoff? just because it has the number 12 after it? ok 12 years later they make a storyline based on a completely different gameplay experience....whats your definition of spinoff?

I suggest you think things through before you create a thread where people could literally stamp "duh" on your forehead.

It was PS1, 1997. Were you expecting something on par with today? Are you going to say next that Super Mario Bros had bad graphics too? Remaking FF7 might be a bad move for Square since the original 7 was their master piece and tends to hold a high value with certain groups of people, why would they release another version of this game? If anything I could maybe expect some kind of collection or download on PSN where "maybe" they'll slightly updated the graphics and cleaned up the polygons (but not up to FF13 standards) and still have the core game. They don't need to do something drastic to a game that doesn't need to be "fixed". The tech demo I assume is to show how long away Sony and Square have come since PS1, from block people to actually human looking people. They just used something familiar to the masses, which is FF7.

Also the other ones are remade cause most of them didn't even see life in North America in their original form. It's to cash in on an old Final Fantasy cause fans WORLD WIDE didn't get to enjoy it. Which is understandable.
