Nah, when I get new games, I normally get them via trading in old games. But sometimes, I do miss a game I traded in. :(

Games are as cheap if not cheaper now as they have ever been, so no.
$50 9 years ago = around $60 in 2009. Go back to 1994-2000 and games were $50 which is like paying $70 in current money value
yep, especially if you can buy it for $20 cheaper on ebay or newegg after 6 weeks or so. games can wait.
Actually no, $60 is so damn cheap, that I import games from the US xD You know, here in Switzerland we pay around $80-$90 xD And even this price doesn't hurt me in any way. Actually only movies are too expensive IMO, paying $13 for a cinema entry or $35 for a BluRay is kinda much for a movie that lasts around 2 hours :S
Does your heart hurt a little when you pay $60 for a game? Just wondering, because everytime I hand over $60 for any game, I feel a little sad and hurt, even for games like Killzone 2.

Yes. Especially with Killzone 2 and LBP. GTAIV and Uncharted 2 were the only games that I bought for full price and thought I got my money's worth. The rest of my games I bought them when they were greatest hits prices.
my heart hurts when I see people making more threads about games costing "too much money", which is essentially what this thread is about.
Please, 60 dollars for a game this gen? I used to pay like 90 dollars for N64 games for crying out loud.Start buying your games used if it is THAT big a deal. Bluray disks dont scratch as easily after all.
We all know games always cost a lot, but after years they still hurt to buy at times :( I buy all my games used, but sometimes I must have that game and I buy at new, I know it is a bad habit. I told myself to wait for Uncharted 2 to go down in price, and it has been hard :(my heart hurts when I see people making more threads about games costing "too much money", which is essentially what this thread is about.

hehe I know what you mean. I suppose depending on ones situation the price of a game can mean a little more or a little less. I still think that games are a lot cheaper now a days compared to say 10 years ago. Good for you for buying all your games used too. That is something I try and do myself but alot of the time for games that I really want I just buy them on release date. It's like crack
For $60 I'm only willing to buy games that I'm sure I will love. Little Big Planet is the last game I bought new from GameStop as a regular edition, and it was kinda worth it.The last game I bought was Demon's Souls Deluxe Edition from Amazon, which I haven't played yet, and recently I was forced to buy the Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Collector's Edition from GameStop at an unreasonable price(like $76 including tax). Damn the Collector's Edition for being GameStop exclusive! If I wasn't the biggest Ninja Gaiden fan in the world, I would say that it wasn't worth it. I'm never going to buy anything new from GameStop again.
heart? no............but wallet? yesDoes your heart hurt a little when you pay $60 for a game? Just wondering, because everytime I hand over $60 for any game, I feel a little sad and hurt, even for games like Killzone 2.

yes my heart breaks and i go home and cry so much i dont even play the game,
=S why would my heart hurt?
It is only money, I mean as long as your not in debt and then waisting your money on games. If you had extra $60.00 and you had the choice to pay a credit card debt or buy a new game I would prob pay the credit card... but if you don't have credit card debt then might as well just buy the game. Now there is a difference between a short term debt and a long term debt. Like student loans or car payments I consider long term debts. I am not saying save up all your money to pay those off. But I would rather pay off short term debts before dropping $60.00 on a game.
yes $60 is too much for 6-7 hours of gameplay, games should be $30...and $40 for games like killzone 2,uncharted 2 ect
not really, its really my primary source of entertainment (dont go to bars, movies etc) and having a newborn its works out fine bc i can play it on her schedule and since i have little leisure time a game can last me for more than a month-turns out to be a great value.
i am trying to get a game bartering group together to save some money

thanks!
Back in the SNES, PSone and N64 era, games were more expensive. Today, despite the fact that game development costs have gone way up, games are actually cheaper, so no, paying $60 doesn't bother me one bit.
Besides that, I make more than enough money to buy all of the games I want, and I'm a smart shopper anyway so I always save a lot of money on each game I buy, despite the fact that I pretty much always buy on release day.
So, again, nope.
I would have to agree. Cartridge games back on SNES and N64 were significantly more than games today. I paid $80 for Killer Instinct 1, $70 for Mortal Kombat 2. I remember when N64 games went greatest hits for $40.You also have to take into account how much time people play games. If someone plays games 6 or more hours a day, no game will be worth the full price. That is why I am debating buying the newest ratchet game or not. I love ratchet, but I know if I buy, it, I will beat it in one weekend or something. People need to rent more, or buy games in groups of friends. One guy buys one game and the other guy buys another.Borrow games afterwards. They really should have a gamefly like business everywhere and not just America. I pay $17 a month for one game, in the past 2 months I have had the service, I have played through 5 games.
I played through
Warioland
Sonic and the secret rings
Ratchet and Clank up your arsenal
Prince of Persia(PS3)
Blazblue
Killzone 2
Killzone 2 is still 60, blazblue is 60, prince of persia is what30 or more, warioland is about 30 sonic is 20, and ratchet is probably dirt cheap. Still That isat least 180 dollars if all store bought. You only get half the current value IF it sells well.
If your in America and you like games, then gamefly should work for you.
It all depends. With GameFly, I think it is worth it big time. The "keep" feature allows games to be about 45 bucks... and with a 20 dollar a month fee, you always have two games out. I still buy big titles... wish I would of rented NFS Shift though.
