I have over 25MB download speed and 8MB upload. I'm quite confused as to why my PS3 is downloading the update so slowly? My computer downloads are very fast but my PS3 aren't. Any ideas?

You mean Mb right? 25/8 MB download/upload is insane.. But are you on a wireless connection? That will make it go slower. My update took about 5 or 10 minutes I think on a 16Mb (Wired).

Might vary depending on other internet traffic going on in your area. I'm on 8mb broadband (soon to be 15mb) and my downloads all go pretty fast. Last update I had was for Fallout New Vegas a few days ago. Around 45mb and took barely over 1min to download - whereas I've known 20mb downloads to take upwards of 5 minutes sometimes.

I'm on wireless so that probably explains it for me. Maybe try and look at your NAT type?

I have the new BT Infinity, here's the speed. Sorry I don't know much about the different speeds.

I'm on wireless via the BT Home Hub 3. I'll check my NAT Type thanks.

If PS3 download speed is a problem, just download the update from your PC and install it via a USB.

I've got about 25 Mb download at my PC but around 8 - 10 at the PS3 due to the wireless connection. The firmware update took maybe 5 mintues to download. Probably depends on how many other people are trying to do it at the same time.

I'm sure it's not your pipe. I'm sure the servers are getting hammered by everyone that is trying to get the update.

Yep, my d/l speed averages 9Mb/s and it only took 5 mins tops.
