If you like RPG's it's highly recommended.

Pros? Over 60 hours of well design RPG gameplay, good story, great re-playability with different classes (origins), many different and diverse choices you make all impact the characters around you as well as shaping the story. It's Bioware, their reputation is well deserved. They haven't made a bad game in my eyes.

Cons? It actually ends. ;)

Um, why don't you go watch some gameplay footage then? Try some video reviews. It would certainly give you a better idea of what to expect than anything we can say here.

If your sole reason for buying a game is graphics, Dragon Age won't impress you. If you are into everything else a game should offer, then the game will surely occupy much of your time.

I have to say yes.

Is it worth what? Is it worth buying a game on someone's recommendation instead of taking 5 minutes to watch a gameplay video for yourself? Definitely not.

Play Demon's Souls first but Dragon age looks a grubby mess. If you can't play it on your PC i would wait for the price to drop. Theres also the EA DLC micro transaction machine that takes you out of the game too.

Do you like rpg's? Then of course you will like it.

But, if you really dont like long, tedious rpg's, and if you are just interested in the game because of the high scores and fan hype, i would stay far away.

Im enjoying it way more than mass effect, though you can see how they are similar in design. loving it.

My only con is the BANK is in the wardens keep DLC.

Yes no bank in an rpg is annoying, you get all these loots above your level and your expected to throw them away to make inventory space.

I would have bought the DLC anyway regardless of the bank, but the bank should be included in the game itself.

I couldnt agree more, was either a bonehead move on Biowares part or they simply wanted perks to buy the DLC.

If your a WRPG fan, absolutely. The game is extremely in depth character wise, has an excellent story (a bit cliche as it encompasses themes that have been present in fantasy tales since....the beginning, but still epic), and it will last you a good long while. The visuals are uglier then sin, but you'll get passed them once you get involved in the story. Which for me took about 20 minutes tops.

If you like RPGs and/or like action-RPGs then yes, you'll enjoy Dragon Age very much. If you are not used to these types of RPGs though I'd reconsider my purchase. The learning curve is a bit steep in my opinion, and it can be a very difficult game. I love RPGs and consider myself pretty familiar with the genre, but even Dragon Age gives me headaches at times. It can be a very complex game with all the tactics, spells, and terms you'll need to learn.

It's still a great game though despite the learning curve and difficulty though.

Pros: * Great story * great voicing * great characters-character development * great team-party based gameplay * Immersive world * Actions you carry out are highly consequential to your general outlook with certain individuals(in-game of course lol) * gameplay is deep. Each class feels different and progresses differently. Different classes also have different origin stories at the beginning of the game which increases replay value, among other things.

Cons: * There are slight hic ups in framerate with some tolerable slowdowns here and there. * Visuals are mediocre for a current gen game....however, this shouldn't hold you back. * DLC is really annoying...you have a guy trying to sell you DLC standing in your camp with a quest marker on top of his head....In addition, if you don't buy that particular DLC you don't have access to a storage chest which should be a standard in all RPGs of this scale. So basically, you'll have to sell or discard awesome armors and items before you get a chance to use them ...because you can't carry them with you if you get overburdened (and you'll definitely be overburdened by the way.) So basically the pros far outweigh the cons in my opinion... and its one of the best rpgs I've played all gen...it could have been better though.

EDIT:

Sorry about the messyness of my post. I tried bulleting it but Gamespot destroyed it :P

IMO, a solid NO. Unless you have played America RPGs before and you truly enjoy them, this game is not for you, especially if you're more into JRPGs. I hated the game, it was very well promoted and Bioware sold me on a subpar title, following a hell of a title in Mass Effect. I cannot even fathom why people regard it as highly as they do. I mean screw graphics, i overlooked those long before i purchased the game but overall the game was no enjoyable for me.

Cool, fully respect your opinion and all, but do you care mentioning how you think the game is subpar in anyways besides graphics, especially since you enjoyed Mass Effect? :?

I am in the middle of another serious play session with Dragon Age right now (five hours so far...) and I will say again, 'Yes!'
