Yea you read it right! My son pushed a DS game into my PS3's disk slot last night. He seems to have got it stuck quite far. Any idea how to get it out without causing damage? Do I need to open it up? I'm worried that digging it out with a knife may cause damage. Feel free to laugh at this, but please help!

This is why I don't let my nephew near any of my consoles/handhelds. That sucks man. Take it to a repair shop or something and have the repair guy give it a go. Don't try anything yourself if it's not something you do everyday. Sorry.

First one Question: How on earth did it even fit?

And about your Question, best take it to a repair shot if you are uncomfortable about using a knife to get it out, I myself have made things worst trying to fix them.

This is why I don't let kids within 5 feet of my PS3, Xbox or gaming PC.

No offense, but I don't trust them, and if I'm letting a little kid near my stuff I'm keeping my eyes on them the entire time.

Do you have kids? Do you watch their every move 24/7? Or do you lock your console in a safe? Obviously none of the above.

I have a nephew who drops by the house every other week. I'll never let him in my room, which houses all my personal stuff, until he's older. I go as far as lock my room door just in case my parents or my brother strolls him into it for the fun "look at that! Uncle's room, nice huh? See his PC and DS? Fun, huh?" moments when I'm out. Which have happened but with no incidents.

I don't care about my consoles or handhelds biting the dust through my own use. But I'd hate to waste money on them just because someone else mis-used them.

I get you. It's a different story for us though. I have 3 kids; 3, 5 and 7. So they're there a lot more than every other week. :) Also we don't have a tv in the bedroom, it's in the lounge. The PS3 is mine, but it's for all of us to use. Also, there are a lot more items of value around the house which are within reach of the kids. It's very unrealistic for there not to be.

They dropped cross company compatibility in the last PS3 redesign. I know. I am pissed too. Look what we are missing out on.

Not compatible with PS3....

Yeah, I try to keep my son(2) away from my consoles as much as possible, however he did manage to fit a toy car in the memory card slot of my 360...

Oh, that's ^^^ just WRONG, in soooo many ways... :P

Glad you got it out without any hassles or damage, Weenski. Kids, they do the darnedest things sometimes... I've heard of some awfully strange stuff being stuck into gaming consoles. One good one i heard about involved a banana being cut by the pop-out disc drawer on the phat PS2... When I was a kid, the best I managed was a bobbypin in an Edison outlet. Melted it into my fingers and gave me a tremendous shock, of course...

... Maybe that's the reason I'm so off-kilter to this day.
