there are some new blue and red ones coming out let me see if i can find a picture. As for vibration, well if u don't have a second controller than definitely, if you do then maybe wait for a sale or something.

red vs blue

see thats the thing i already have 2 sixaxis but with the games that have the vibration function im just wondering if its worth getting a controller or not cause i remember playing the previous metal gear games that most the vibration occurs in the cutscenes (the very long mgs cut scenes) where i actualy just sit back and watch and leave the controller so if thats the case its really not worh it but guy at the store i go to kept telling me that im missing out... well maybe thats just him doing his job

sometimes it does really help with the immersion, i mean you bought the console, do really want to spend an entire generation wondering about the vibration?

I bought a DS3 just for MGS4 because of Kojima's tendencies to really go over-board with the whole vibration thing... ...and damn, MGS4 wouldn't have been the same without it.

Sorry, a Playstation controller without vibration? What was Sony thinking? I know Sony made some excusses at first but people saw through them, especially in wake of the Wiimote. Force Feedback is a must have for any controller. Helps with immersion.

Once you have had a vibration function you wonder what you have been doing wasting your time playing these games without it. It's a must have accessory.

if i am not mistaken the first ps3 controllers (sixaxis) came out w/o vibration (or force feedback) due to a dispute between the inventor of the technology behind it and sony, which was resolved at some point where the dual shock was released... in many games the vibration is a big plus, in battlefield bad copmany or similar games you can not only hear but feel the rumble produced by tanks and vehicles close by or make you realize that you are being hit... it is an integral part of the gameplay lately and it's definitely worth the money you are spending...

i just bought a new silver one. i would imagine ur old original ones are not quite in top nick, so if you have the money - and nothing better to spend it on, you'll be satisfied with the purchase.

I found that the DS3 also is much better manufactured with a lot less problems. My SIXAXIS got to a point that it was almost impossible to use (left analog stick not returning back to center from the foward position) this seems to have happened to most all of the SIXAXIS controllers.

I like the DualShock more than the normal sixaxis, it's heavier so it feels like I actually have something in my hands. And with some games the vibration really adds something, like shooters and racing games.

Oh yeah, Dualshock is worth a purchase. Aside from having rumble and motion controls, it also has more weight, and doesn't randomly lose connectivity like the Sixaxis.
