it was about a guy who called his friend because his ps3 just died. when he came over to check out the problem. when he got there he showed him the ps3 and he saw that all the holes were covered in duct tape. rolling on the floor laughing moment. he said he wanted to keep the dust out. :| just wanted to know any other "not so bright" people?

People are like that. I've got an Onkyo stereo receiver that puts out a lot of heat. I mounted a computer fan in the back of the cabinet to keep it cool. A guy on the internet I was talking to has the exact same receiver, and he puts his DVD player on top of it, which pretty much seals all the ventilation holes. He says it gets too hot to touch. But he likes the way it looks with all his components stacked on top of each other.

Idiocracy. It is coming. Beware.

I thouht I was bad by putting a biohazard suit on my PS3 so it wouldn't get sick. :P

i know only one story, but i doubt it could top the duct-tape one. there's this one guy i know from my college days who always placed his PS3 inside a fairly small, unventilated closet, because he claimed that the fan noise was annoying and that it didn't bother when the PS was in the closet (well, he was actually right about the "not hearing it in the closet" part). long story short, after a while, his PS3 overheated and died.

I wasn't present at the scene of the "crime" :P (i've been to his family's house only a few times), but i did confirm that his PS3 was in the closet when he told me about it in class.

but that's not even the kicker. No, the true act of stupidity was when he did the same thing again. We no longer keep in touch, but i truly hope he's not doing that anymore.

he should pour some tylenole in the disc slot to make it feel better.

This example doesn't have anything to do with gaming, but still on the subject of not-very-bright people/moments.

A friend of mine wanted me to connect her laptop to the net because she was having issues with the router. I went to her house and I asked her what she had tried and she said that her router hadn't worked since she bought it. It turned out she never had the router plugged in, to the telephone socket or the power point!!!

Couldn't stop laughing!
