Hey,
I am going to be buying a PS3 within a week or so, and I was just wondering if using it in a dusty room is bad for it. I know dust for electronics is never GOOD, but for the PS3, is it really bad?
-Thanks

It is not a terrible amount, but more than a little. I have a bunch of pets and it can get pretty dusty.

Don't let your pets get near your system. A guy was asking here if the warranty included his dog pissing on the PS3. Keep it somewhere high and clean the air vents occasionally with a common handheld vacuum. Also give the PS3 some room to breath. We have recently being having alot of work done. Plastering.. re-wiring etc in our house.
So, there has been LOTS of dust floating around the place. I kept my ps3 wrapped in a towel whilst all the work was being done, but there is still alot of dust on surfaces etc and floating around. The inside of my PC is white with plaster dust....so I suppose the PS3 is the same...
My PS3 has coped fine though..and ive been using it ALOT lately. I hope I havent tempted fate by saying this, but I think you'll be fine.
I would advise you try and keep your PS3 as dust free as possible. Regularly wipe away any gathering dust and periodically lightly vacuum dust out of the vents to ensure a long life for the system. I just had my PS3 die from yellow light of death from dust accumulating..
