Easy, Medium or Hard?

Let's talk difficulty. On what level do you play your games? I've recently decided to start games on the Hard difficulty for that extra challenge, God of War 3 being the first game I am trying this on. Sure, I get a sense of frustration but then when I complete a difficult part I feel a sense of accomplishment. Also, if available, do you replay a game if beating it unlocks a harder difficulty?

For me, that depends on how much I enjoy the game.

Depends on the game. Games like FEAR,Call of duty or the Tom Clancy games, I start on the hardest difficulty right from the start. Others I shall go medium first, if I like the game i will bump up the difficulty for the next playthrough.

I started out on easy for COD:WAW sicne that was my first time playing the series and now I have moved up to medium and hard.

medium usually and than will go to hard after i beat it to get used to it.

I always complete the game on the hardest difficulty setting first. Then:

• if a new, harder difficulty setting is unlocked, I'll complete the game at that setting
• after that or if there's no new setting unlocked, I'll go back Trophy hunting at the easiest setting

You mean first playthrough? Cause if so then I start at medium all the time. If I like the game enough ill play through it on hard.

I always start out on easy especially if I don't know the game much. If I really like it and really want to get into it, I up the difficulty.

I've always managed to beat a game with less than 10 losses on hardest, so i say no game is hard enough. Try me.colibriosis

how can we know if your gonna lie or not

It varies for me. Sometimes i'll start on easy, sometimes i'll start on medium. I never start on the hard difficulty setting.

Mostly onmedium so I get ot know better the game and not get lost on hard. If then i move to hard cause I now were things are but in easy if i'm collecting stuff.

Minus Ninja Gaiden & Dragon Age I generally choose Hard since few games provide any real challenge these days. Back in my day there were no checkpoints every 3 minutes or regenerating health and I had to walk through a foot of snow to get anywhere.Floppy_Jim

Snow?! I would have been happy with snow! In my day, we had to travel to Greece and climb Mount Olympus just to get a health pack!

I always start the game im playing on easy.....then when i get the feel for it i put it on medium followed by hard.

i always go easy for some reason.

I usually play on default (medium, normal) when I play games.

Normal/medium on first playthroughs. Then on hard difficulty on later ones.

i always set the difficulty on games to *easy* cuz i suck at everything i play :lol:

For most games I put it on medium. For racing games I set it on hard, turn off all the assists, and set the physics on professional.

I've noticed that I have to play on Hard to even get a thrill of difficulty out of a game. Some games EZ modes like Uncharted 2 are just ridiculous. I don't really see how it could be fun when it takes enemies like 20 bullets to kill you. I felt like Hard should have been Normal, Crushing should have been Hard, and then have a higher setting

Always medium or whatever the default difficulty is even if on the 2nd, 3rd, Nth playthrough.

Medium, Then Hard. I play Medium first to enjoy the story, and get a feel for it, rather then get really frustrated and dont want to play anymore.

normally easy, i found i die enough between bad hit detection and less than awesome camera angles in action/platformer type games.

I prefer to play my games on easier difficulties.

Is "easier difficulties" an oxymoron?:P

Depends on the game, if its a series i neer played before , I'll most likely start on normal (or medium mode). If its a series i know like God Of War, I'll do it up on hard mode and maybe even the most difficult level.

Always Medium for the first playthrough of any game. If I play through a game again then I play on hard usually.

medium so its not a walkthrough for me.....if its too easy, then ill go up in diff and start over

Usually medium/normal. Only game recently that I really went through first on easy was Stalker (on PC).

Lately, there were a couple games that I started on hard, but mostly normal mode for me.

I guess it depends on the game.
