Started the Update for GT5 at 10 this is where it was at about 10 minutes ago (75 minutes in) with no end in sight.

I love my PS3, but it's like every day I am reminded why I play PC so much more.

Does anybody ever get a fast PSN update??

I still think it's worth it... To be honest though I just want to drive. Lol, already have the wheel out so it's just become a waiting game.

Dude, GT5 has the longest install time in the history of downloads. Fun game tho.

Tell me about it, any other game would have been done by now. I can only blame myself though, I should've known. I hadn't played in a while, just didn't figure there would be an update...

But there always is.

Yeah it's slow as hell. If I take the size of a file and divide it by the download speed my PS3 reports that it's getting from my router, everything takes about four times as long as it should.

All the game updates are slow, but GT5 just kills it.

it looks like u havent updated ur GT5 in a while or u just got the game. GT5 has the biggest and longest update to date lol. like someone said, but GT5 will make sure it was well worth the wait.

I only experience slow downloads with massive patches otherwise its fine downloading games and playing MP.

I remember downloading 300MB download for Nobi Nobi Boy, it took all night. But back then I had wireless.

I had FIOS 15/5, 25/25 and now 40/40 and I downloaded 15 gigs of free games in under an hour.

I am using wireless, but my PC, running on Wi-Fi from the same router is very fast. It took a little over 3 hours to finish the update. And yes, I've been away from PS3 for effectively 4 months. With school I wasn't gaming too much, just started to get back into it now.

So then right now I went to go play and there's a new system update. mfw

Works fine for me. Maybe it's because I don't live in America.

That could be it. I honestly think their servers are extra busy right now too. With people downloading all the full retail games on PS+ it's a lot of bandwidth

I just downloaded a 375MB Dead Nation patch in under 10 mins. I think you really need to switch to wired. Night and Day difference.

I just upgrade to a PS3 slim, and it took me a little over a day to redownload 273 gigs of data.

So...yeah.

Yeah, PS3 is my favorite gaming system, but Sony really does need to improve download speeds.

Again, let me iriterate. Your download speed is based on the ISP and what they offer you, how your PS3 is connected ( wired or wifi) and how many people share your signal distributed by 1 ISP or many ISP's controlling a certain part of a town, city, provice, township, state and coutry. Sony ain't perfect, so don't troll because you're displeased, want too take out on them with out postive concern and feed back and how they should improve and or just temperorilly looking for the next best thing for the time being.

So please don't take offense to what I say. I'm just trying to make people think outside the box and too help them and give them a better view
