Exclusive PS3 Dual Shock 3 Sixxaxis pics (not a fake !)

I have my ps3 controller right here and there is no physical or cosmetic changes of ANY kind from those pics. The only difference is the bland looking sticker on the back, which would never be slapped on a black controller like that.

Sony is going to make it have a visual difference so you can see the difference when you grab your controller at home when its sitting next to the non-rumble one that came with your console.

When are they going to update the controller. The design of the controller is 12 years old and the dual shock controller came out 10 years ago. I love my Ps3 but the controller is ruining my game experiences especially with racing games. Playing motorstorm and Formula 1 CE (favorite game) my right index finger hurts like know other trying to hold down the R2 button. They need a better design. I cant use the X button because yo have to press it down so hard just to get full throttle in Formula 1 CE. I wish the x button was digital.NismoNissan41

Why do you press the X button hard???? It isn't pressure sensitive......either pressing it hard or soft won't change how much power you put in accelerating or anything......

nope....the dualshock was called like this because it had two rotating cilinders one on each side of the pad. This one not only has a new "rumble" technology wich makes the vibrating much more robust, it also has a mainly more important feature wich is motion sensing.....i thinkSHOCKAXIS would be more appropriate LOL

Na I got his point more as a. The Sixaxis will never have rumble. When we all know it will. Just a matter of when. MGS4 or Killzone 2 may be it. But I think it may be latter than that even. They went threw so much stuff to get it. And im sure they did for some reason. 150 mill they paid. Yet if you do a basic search, all that comes up is the old news about them not having it??????? Hahaha, do you really think the sticker will be on the final product? Obviously there is a sticker on it because it is a pre-production prototype. Thirdly, other than the colour difference, exactly what difference was there between the Dual Shock and Dual Shock 2? Honestly, why can't people think about what they write.

its likely that big title exclusives such as killzone and mgs4 will have rumble. if sony know the dualshock 3 will be coming out then they would have told developers

I can tell there is some subtle difference, the palm grips look more pronounced, and last time i checked with my ps2 thats where the rumble-thingeys are... cant wait! kudos for risking your job TC

Sony said they where going to make the rumble next gen or somehting like that.. Did you notice anything special ?

Joking aside, they did send some people who have registerd with PSN rumble enabled controllers, mine came about 4pm.

thats how i feel. how can we be sure that the controller in the picture isn't a fake. you would assume sony would put some kind of indentifer on the controller to differentiate a sixaxis and a dualshock3 controller.

Every PS2 DualShock controller says "DualShock2" on it in blue.

If this were true, we should see a DUALSHOCK3 or something near where it says SIXAXIS. This is just a regular PS3 controller.

I find it funny how so much people think just because they might put rumble in the controller they suddenly have to change the name from sixaxis to Dualshock 3. If some people would think for a second they want their controllers' motion sensor feature to be noticed probably more than the rumble feature. Whether they change the name of the controller or not is their decision, quit assuming stuff.

If you're talking about me, I said no such thing. I just said that it should say DUALSHOCK. Not that it should remove SIXAXIS. Hell, it uses SIXAXIS motion capabilities. I just think that if it were dualshock that it would say dualshock as well, since PS2 controllers have "DUALSHOCK 2" in blue where PS3 controllers have the controller slot lights.
