You can't do anything but buy a REAL MS Pro Duo and start backing-up the files on Media Go.

You're out of luck. No chance of recovery.

hmmmm....is it really that fake? hmmmm....a mysterious 2GB eating the 8GB space? Maybe you just haven't formatted or reformatted that memory card into your PSP? if you don't know how: Settings>System Settings>Format Memory Stick

if it has used space, the files might be hidden or something. to view hidden files you can try this. on a windows pc, click start>programs > accessories > command prompt.

on command prompt type the drive letter of your mem stick. (e.g. "g:" ) then type "attrib -r -h -s /s /d" then press enter.

Not exaclty. I have bought two fake 16gb memory stick pro duo's, by accident, even though they were listed as 'Sony' and the pic showed what appeared to be a legit packaged item...No magicgate support, and you cant copy movies(I didnt try a game from ps3 to psp) from the ps3 to the psp. I bought the movies from PS Store. So, fake means that there is a GOOD chance it will not work, have sign. less memory avail than what the memory stick states, and/or delete everythign at some point down the road and your out of luck.

Hello. Sorry to dig up this old post but I'm currently having the same problem as the TC and I tried your method and it's kind of worked. There is now a new folder on the memory stick called FOUND.000 which is the same size as all my lost data. However the contents of this folder are all 'file fragments'. Do you know how I could make this files usable again? Thanks

Buy all your sticks from newegg in the future. They're super cheap and you don't have to worry about them being fake.

Anyone who has just lost the data stored on memory card can easily restore it back if the memory card itself still works -there are a lot of software to utilize this task, -I'm not sure if it is OK to advertise or recommend smth., but I personally use one of those tools and it helps me every time, even though I always keep my savedata backuped.
