Anyone esle have issue with earlier saved game?

I bought the game today and it seem my old saved game doesnt work wich is confusing since in the manuel they say

" If you've aleady played Fallout 3, you will see your saves in the Load/Save menu, so you can continue with an existing character. "

Anyway if you have some infos that might help will be great.

I heard there was an issue with loading old game files in some regions (Canada was it?) Bethesda said they were looking into it. I would go look on their site.

Bethesda's not good with launch issues. They take care of them soon after they pop up, but they pop up all too often.

Nope, luckily with the PS3 version they just read off of the disc (not so with 360). The main game does take up quite a bit of hard drive space though (about 4.5GB I think)

this was the main thing i was worried about, coz i finished fallout 3 on x360 with full achievements, and was hoping i would add up my achievments and not start all over again...that would suck :(

well they are working on a patch so it looks like you're just gonna have to wait it out for now...

Well the 360 version is supposed to run smoother (on PS3 it tends to crash/freeze occasionally so I've heard). If you did want to get it for 360 all 5 expansions take a total of 2GB of space, but you can install/uninstall each one at your leisure.

The thing you usually don't hear is that the 360 has the same problems. (I had the 360 version) The problem lies not with what console you play it on, but with Bethesda themselves.

as dodgy as my 360 is starting to get already I'd rather risk losing a couple hours of gameplay at worst if it freezes instead of not being able to play it if my system should up and die for no reason.. oh and I've already played the regular fallout 3 on Ps3 and only had it freeze once in 12 hours or so...

Same here. I was pretty excited about it, but now I'm hearing that the expansion packs can be almost unplayable, and there are bugs all over the place.I think I'll wait until they've issued 8 or 10 patches for it.

I wish i could trade my Fallout 3 for a Fallout 3 GOTY edition, and pay the difference. It's the same situation as Little Big Planet, it's not that i don't have money to buy them, but I don't want to keep all that downloadable content on the hard drive since I may change my playstation, and anyway 120 GB is a small space considering that some games require about 3-4 GB of space in order to be played.

Another thing to be aware of, is if you are using say a European version of the original game but buy a US version of the GOTY edition, you won't be able to load your character from the original either despite them have no region code.
