Far Cry 2: Extreme Frustration

Right so the thing is im getting pretty wound up with a feature this game has... I talked to my friends about it and they said it NEVER happened to them so why the... is it happening to me?

I'll be out doing a mission, like just now im doing a mission for the gun shop dude taking out a target. And ill be on my way across the landscape when i started getting chased by some guys in a jeep, fair enough, easily taken care of with my grenade launcher.

This time though, and its not the first time, i got out of my car just blew the jeep to pieces with my grenade launcher (stupidly left it a bit late and i nearly died) so i use a syringe to heal up, I turn around to get back in my jeep and this rocket comes arching through the air towards me and blow me and my jeep into chunks. WTF!? this is three times its happened now and im getting pretty annoyed at it as I have to do the big annoying trip again. Is this happening to anyone else regularly?

NOTE: I have it on a normal setting and im on act 2 now.

Haven't had this problem but I'm still on Act 1. It's possible that snipers have upgraded to RPGs instead of just sniper rifles between the acts. Can't be sure though

Rocket Launcher=Suicide

Someone probably shot you with a rocket launcher lol.

I haven't even reached act 2 yet, but I remember seeing a developer walkthrough getting shot by some dude in the mountains with a rocket launcher...there's probably a lot of those lying around in some places.

Everytime I hear a car I run for cover or get in my car because of that. The AI is very good...

Have you looked at the route and found a way to travel to your destination offroad? They might miss you if you travel offroad. Also, see if you can skip them by getting the bus. This might help.

the enemy AI with rocketlaunchers are definatly superhuman, along with the mortars. they can spot you from a mile off and still seem to know where you are after youve run around a mountain.

But your not experiencing a glitch just overly ridiculous AI.

They ahve RPGs in act 2....

EDIT- lol at super AI...I'm playing on Hardcore and haven't had a real problem...I mean, for crying out loud you can hear the RPG go off ...
