I personally like the Z93 sniper rifle with an expanded scope and supressor. It is good for picking off guys from long range without being spotted. If you have the time to get signature weapons, I really like the Bushman. The .44 magnum and Desert Eagle are good if you want to go loud. All of the special weapons are pretty powerful and fun except for the repair tool and sort of the flare gun.
I have not gotten this yet, but the Japanese Tanto knife looks pretty good. It is a signiture weapon that you get by finding hidden letters.

So I tested all the weapons you guys mentioned on here and found that the Z93 is the most powerful. Grenade arrows and RPGs are obviously pretty powerful but they're expensive so I don't like using them. Z93 can put down those astronaut-looking guys (the ones that walk around with a flamethrower) in 3 shots while it takes close to 10 shots with the ACE or Bushman to kill them. The downside to the Z93 is that it can't be used effectively in combat. Moving the lens around is really slow, even slower than scanning the environment with your camera. But put some distance between you and your target and it's a badass killer.

The D50 and Spas-12 works really well on the heavy gus too. Im having a lot of fun just using the D50 strictly. It kills normal guys in 1 shot when you are within it's max range damage.

The D50 is pretty weak. It took me 20 shots to put down the astronaut-looking guy. While I was shooting at him, he even yelled "Go home and get a better gun" LOL
I forgot about shotguns. I agree, the SPAS and Bull are very good. When I come across a astronaut-looking guy (never called them that before, but I like it) I use a LMG. I forget what the last LMG is called, but that takes them down pretty quickly.
My Loadout: Shredder (modded vector), Shadow (modded 1911 pistol), AMR (modded z93 Sniper), and ripper (modded MKG LMG) All of these are signature weapons. Also get the japanese tanto. It is essential for your loadout as the machete takes 3 swings to take one person down. The shredder takes down enemy very quickly and is silenced and has an optical sight as well as extended mag. The best weapon in any FPS (and most other games) is your brain. Even a portable nuclear missile launcher won't help your opponent once you put your little girl's pistol on the back of their head.

Well you must have been pretty far away for 20 shots. I killed one with 5 shots in close quarters with the D50. Its a great gun given its short range, it can kill people in 1 shot.
I also really like the bull and the bushman. Both are great. If you complete some u play action you can get this other pistol called the cannon. Its a tricked out 44 magnum that i really enjoy as well. What sucks for me is that I got all the single player achievements so there is barely anything left to do. there are no enemys roaming around anymore. Whenn I do come across one, im unstoppable with all the perks in the game and weapons

What I am stating here is a fact not opinion, the most powerful weapon in far cry 3 is the AMR (signature version Z93) this gun kills any living creature in the game in a single bullet (this includes heavy gunners, and it does not need to be a head shot. Even though the launchers say that the damage is all the way up believe me it's not. I've shot a heavy gunner point blank with a GL-93 and the guy was still alive, but with the AMR you can shoot him anywhere and he will die. If you do not believe me you can go on far cry 3 wiki and search AMR it will tell all the info on this gun. Even though this gun is the most powerful I do not think it is the best. IMO the ripper is the best (signature version MKG). Hope this helps
