FF13 confirmed worldwide for 09 on the ps3.

This is what it says: First, the Shinjuku-based publisher re-confirmed that Final Fantasy XIII is planned for worldwide release in sometime in 2009.

I have my doubt's about this info though=o

Edit: It doesn't say worldwide for ps3 only in 09 though which I guess in theory could mean 360 too, but they've stated before that they wont work on the 360 version until its out for ps3 atleast in japan.

It doesn't say "simultaneous" worldwide release though. :(

I hope it comes out early 09, but that's just dreaming. It will come out first in Japan, then for 360 and PS3 in NA at the same time.

That would be awesome, but I doubt it. Square seems to take pleasure in reaming PS3 owners. We'll be waiting for the 360 port for release. :(

I wonder if this means they'll actually be able to have both the ps3 and 360 versions done for late 09 or if the statment about a worldwide release in 09 is wrong.

It's not comeing in 08 in japan, thats for sure. We wont see FF13 any where until 09, the question is if we'll see it in NA europe in 09 like my first link says.

So what will happen if they make it specifically for the PS3, then they find out that they can't make it for the 360?

Option 1: Denounce the 360 version and give Microsoft their money back.

Option 2: Downgrade it to the point where it scores half on what it got on the PS3.

Nobody has actually seen ingame footage so graphic wise you dont know if its even worthy of being a Wii title. But Japanese developers arent tallented with compression so most likely it will be multi discs. Which is going to end in 'you have to switchs discs you version sucks' vs 'atleast we got FF13 you still dont have Lost Odyssey'.

the PS3 release will be held back in those territories until the 360 version is complete.

They are getting a royal treatment so I wouldnt feel sorry for them.

if microso$t can get them to go multiplate it seems possible they could get them to compress the game down for each system to make them identical.

I don't think its below microso$t, but rather unlickly they will force people to go out and buy a bigger hard drive to play a ps3 port. so the game is going to suffer...it has to, the question is will it impact the ps3 version

I doubt it'll make 2009 outside of Japan, since if the demo isn't due out untill March 2009 then the actual game proberly won't be out untill mid-2009 in Japan and id estimate late 2010 for US/PAL regions ... i mean the game needs to be translated, localised and then ported to 360 ....

They'll finish the japanese version of the game before they even start thinking of the 360 version, they've said over and over so no, it wont look any worse on ps3 because of the 360 version, but it is ofc possible that the 360 version wont be as good as the ps3 version.

It won't take 8 discs on the 360, more like 4-5 which is the norm for Square. I mean most of their RPG's since FF VII would take about 4 cd's. I don't think it's going to be different this time around. Bluray disc allows games to be bigger because they doesn't need to compress the cutscenes as much as on a normal dvd.

FF XIII is out for 2010 christmas more then likely
