The lower the price, the more people are going to buy, the larger the install base, the more games put into development, the MORE I CAN ENJOY MY INVESTMENT.

A price drop is what we need, even a price tag of 499 will entice many people who are currently on the fence about it.Â
Not at all..... Personal, I bought it bcuz it was $600, anything less would be uncivilize.
I love my PS3, thank you verymuch.
sure let the po' folk buy one and join the fun. Hell, if they drop the price I might have to pick up a second one! swordfish_64I love how we have narrow minded people on these forums. It always gives me a good laugh. There is a crap load more reasons besides being po (learn to spell). I personnally am waiting on a price drop also. Not because I can't afford one at $600, but because I simply don't think it is worth $600. before somebody trys to use the super shallow arguement of blu-ray, save it. I don't want nor need blu-ray. So to me and the millions of others that haven't purchased a PS3, the blu-ray is something we can do without and feel it is being forced on us and not just forced on us, but we also actually have to pay more for something we could care less to have. So me (and millions of others) not buying a ps3 at this time has nothing to do with being po. I simply don't think the ps3 is worth what the asking price is. DVD works just fine. Don't get me wrong, I want one, just aint willing to pay the $600 asking price when half of whats in it I don't want.
Â
P.S. See the main reason the blu-ray doesn't interest me is because I aint going to use my ps3 (once I have one) as a movie player anyways. Thats never a good thing to do with a console. I found out the hard way by using my ps2 as a DVD player. See the players wasn't actually made to play movies. Games and movies are different. A game only spins when it need data from the disk. A movie on the other hand spins all the time while being watched. The ps2 drive wasn't made to be spun constantly, and I believe the ps3 drive is made the same way. As in not really made to spin constantly to watch movies. Thats basicly what made me have to pay $100 to get my ps2 fixed. So even when I get a ps3, I will still consider myself as not having a blu-ray player and will still only buy DVD. The only way you are going to ever see me buy a blu-ray movie, is if I go out a buy a actual blu-ray player...................Kinda lets you know why I see blu-ray as a forces feature. It is something I will never use on my ps3 anyways.
I think some ppl would agree that after they bought there ps3 got home and opened it that when they pulled out that shiny behemoth of a console and saw there reflection, they knew they got there moneys worth. also id be glad cause bigger install base means stupid ppl like ubi wont let my friggin games just sit!mugwuffin
lol if the look of a console makes you happy and convinces you that you got the right console, then you are super easy to amuse and satisfy. It will take more than looks to get me to buy. I could care less what it looks like. I care about the games, not the systems they play on.
i dont i got my 60GB PS3 and it work fine for me:lol:

the price actualy raise since the launch lol
but no i won't be piss off . you bought a console early so you expect the price to drop
what piss me off is that damn xbox 360 elite... i bought a 360 and now its just crap damnÂ

First of all, the majority of av websites and audiophiles have reached the consensus that the PS3 is the best blu-ray playa on the market, understand playa? Second of all, for most people who have invested thousands of $ on a 1080p television and a pimp surround sound system, we want to enjoy the highest possible picture and sound quality, Enter Blu-Ray. Seen? Third, I used my ps2 for several years as my primary dvd player and guess what, it still works today, no problem mon.
Lastly, if you don't want half of the features the PS3 has and are not willing to buy one, why troll a PS3 forum, why not go play with your wii, its onlt 250$ I hear, and it doesn't have half of Ps3 features, and no DVD playback- there you go, your dream system. I think the majority of us PS3 owners are ready to actually move forward and enjoy new and cutting edge technology, and early adopters and technophiles are willing to pay extra for that opportunity.Â
All electronics drop in price, you pay for being the first to use it. Think of it this way for the extra $50 we all got to enjoy the PS3 1 year ahead of those who waited. If $50 bucks no worth the time spent on the system prior to the price drop, because if you wait long enough everything drops in price. Waiting 1 year just to save $50 is stupid in my opinion since anything can happen while your waiting you can die from a stroke. Then whos laughing.
So in short no I wouldn't be upset if it dropped in price because I've been playing the PS3 all this time. Thats worth more than $50. Â

It is about you being po.. because if you had the extra cash laying around, you would get one.. And do you honestly think Sony would make another console mistake like the Ps2 and not make the drive more sturdy/able to be spun constantly? Sony isnt stupid.. Sony is the #1 electronic conglomerate in the world.. they got this way for a reason. They tout the Ps3 as a media device.. not a game console.. why would they put a piss poor drive in a media device?
For people who already bought a ps3, would you be glad of a price cut meaning more install base meaning more games for ps3, or would you be pissed feeling that u didn' t get ur money' s worth ?honzo2k
Â
Uh, why would I be mad? I already bought it, so getting upset over it would be kind of foolish. Â
nope, wouldn't bother me at all. Even if they do put in a bigger hard drive it will not make a difference, but I can't see them adding anything else to the system anyways. I mean what more could you add.d14m23
I agree. And besides, a price drop is inevitable.

First learn what trolling is. And second, who said anything about me having a wii? Which I don't have. Learn to read every once in awhile you will see in my sig what I own. Or is that to hard for ya? Don't like my opinion on things? Tuff, I didn't come here to get your happyness in the first play. Don't like what I have to say? it's as simple as DON'T READ WHAT I WRITE. I aint trolling and you should learn what it is before you call somebody a troll. I am just stating my opinion and could care less if you agree with it or not.I would be laughing seeing I didn't waste (it would be a watse if I died within a year of getting it) my money and that money would be used to ease the pain of having to pay for a unexpected funeral. Trust me, I know. I just lost my baby brother last november.since anything can happen while your waiting you can die from a stroke. Then whos laughing.

If you think the reason I don't have a ps3 is because I am po, then you are pretty much the narrowest minded person I have EVEN come across. I have enough to buy the ps3, about 20 games and a new hdtv if I wanted. I just value my money enough to know when something is and isn't worth it. Why not go get one instead of complaining here like a little **** PS3 is the most technologically advanced console on the planet, and we who have one enjoy its features. We actually like to enjoy cutting edge games and cutting edge movies, that's why we bought the bloody thing. If that's not your cup of tea, then keep your dvd player, watch it on a standard def tv, because if u want to get the most out of your a/v system investments, then you'll get a blu-ray player. And remember, PS3 is time and again ranked as one of the BEST blu-ray players out now, and by far the cheapest, plus its a bloody PS3 for crying out loud, you can play games, surf the web, utilize the psn and home which will be out soon, store your video's music, pictures, and more. If that isn't worth the value for you, then why not shut your broke ass up and go play with your wii.

Lastly, if you don't want half of the features the PS3 has and are not willing to buy one, why troll a PS3 forum, why not go play with your wii, its onlt 250$ I hear, and it doesn't have half of Ps3 features, and no DVD playback- there you go, your dream system. I think the majority of us PS3 owners are ready to actually move forward and enjoy new and cutting edge technology, and early adopters and technophiles are willing to pay extra for that opportunity.
I am just stating my opinion and could care less if you agree with it or not.I didn't say you had a wii, from what u said, it's more like you have wii envy because that system seems to be your dream system, what with it's bare bones features and all.
I am another person with plenty of dough who has no intention of buying a PS3 until the games are there. We exist. We don't have broke asses--we have standards, playa.http://www.totallyps3.com/gameinfo.php?details=newsid&newsid=87

Ah insults, the last refuge of the weak-minded. You've certainly shown me with your mighty links. Again, when the games are there, I'll buy one...but not until.http://www.totallyps3.com/gameinfo.php?details=newsid&newsid=87

[QUOTE="l-_-l"][QUOTE="swordfish_64"][QUOTE="l-_-l"]I love how we have narrow minded people on these forums. Don't get me wrong, I want one, just aint willing to pay the $600 asking price when half of whats in it I don't want.[QUOTE="swordfish_64"]sure let the po' folk buy one and join the fun. Hell, if they drop the price I might have to pick up a second one! swordfish_64

First of all, the majority of av websites and audiophiles have reached the consensus that the PS3 is the best blu-ray playa on the market, understand playa? I can see you are still stuck on stupid with your po/broke/whatever comments. Seeing you are sooooooooooooo narrow minded (and hard heaeded), I don't care to continue talking to you. Just keep this in mind in your little world. It isn't always about having everything and having the best of everything. Blu-ray doesn't interest me like it does you, so press on and deal with it. The world doesn't revolve around you, so just except the fact we don't share the same opinion and grow up. Everything isn't about arguing. You fellas are the ones with the small minds, sure, it will always be 4/20/07 and ps3 will never have any new games out, we'll just be stuck with motorstorm and resistance forever. This thread is asking PS3 OWNERS if a price drop would piss us off. If you don't own a ps3, and don't even want one, why post here? swordfish_64
They don't own a PS3 but they definitely want one.
Why else lurk on a PS3 board?
Envy is a powerful force.Â
I don't own a PS3 (lol might get one if there is a price drop), but my general rule on this is that a price drop is ALWAYS a good thing. A price drop means more people (like me) will buy the system, which in turn means there will be more games for the system.
Realistically, a price drop would help the PS3 catch up witht he 360. If a library of games as good as the PS2 comes around after, the PS3 will win just like the PS2 did. Sony really should have realized what the magic of the ps2 was. It was never about the power of the system, but the power of the games.Â

Thank you. I never once said I didn't want a PS3. I just said I don't think it is worth the current asking price. And some people seem to think people aren't entitled to that kind of a opinion.[QUOTE="swordfish_64"]You fellas are the ones with the small minds, sure, it will always be 4/20/07 and ps3 will never have any new games out, we'll just be stuck with motorstorm and resistance forever. So is rationalization. I come here to listen to PS3 owners and potential buyers to find out if there's a convincing reason to get a PS3 that I've overlooked. So far, I haven't found one. The reason I spoke up is that I don't like it when people with similar "wait and see" attitudes to mine are slammed as either poor or jealous, of which I'm neither. Since this thread is already off-track enough, I'll do the TC a favor and shut up now.No, the user base needs to expand. There is so much great things coming to PS3 it is crazy. The things we're seeing now are amazing but next year and beyond are what is going to seperate Playstation from the competition.LiquidMetal14
4 real, the future for the ps3 is very bright indeed with Lair, Heavenly Sword, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Playstation Home, consistent firmware updates and much more all coming out this year. Like I said, the games are coming. Some people have to have the newest hottest electronics equipment out right away, others can wait, hey to each his own. But don't tell me this thing doesn't have tons of value built into it.

I'm genuinely curious. Has anyone else done this much research over a $600 toy?
Even if we were talking about a car purchase, I could understand reading a couple of reviews, checking out some consumer safety ratings, maybe poking around a forum or two, before running off and testing driving it.
But for a game console? To hang around here everyday in the hopes of unearthing a magical reason to purchase it?
Doesn't that, well, sound a little abnormal?Â
