Metal Gear Solid 4, Gran Turismo 5, and Final Fantasy XIII.
The first two are amazing and well worth the wait for me but I skipped FFXIII all together after hearing more and more about it. I might try it later but I doubt I'd enjoy it.
Having solely the Wii as my 'main' gaming console for the longest time and after seeing screenshots of GTA 4 when it was first announced, i knew i had to get the PS3, and im glad i did too! .... 3-ish years after launch. :P
Well, I wouldn't say I bought the PS3 for a specific game. I knew I wanted one over a 360 when I bought my first HDTV because it would double as a blu-ray player so that made sense to me. I suppose the first game that got me excited about the PS3 though was MGS4.
I didn't buy the PS3 for any game in particular. I got a PS3 at launch and planned to get one several months before it was released, regardless of the games available.
I got my PS3 December 21st, 2009 as a birthday present. I was quite upset, my sister payed $350, I've never been so grateful... Though the 1st game I got was Drakes Fortune, and then I started liking my system. Well that's the story... O what? Wrong Thread?
Bought my PS3 back in '08 for NFS, Gran Turismo 5, Twisted Metal, Driver, and Resistance. 2 of those haven't come out yet, but the software lineup has been strong so the wait hasn't been too bad. :P Although I do have mixed feelings towards Driver at the moment.
Not really for any specific games. I just liked the PS2 over the XBOX and decided to continue my trend with the PS3. Very happy with my choice this far in
I bought it because I had $400 to burn and I can`t make grown up decisions. Saveings account? Can you play Uncharted on a saveings account? I didn`t think so.
I brought my PS3 cuz i owned the previous 2 playstations. I have a soft spot for it. Guess im a sony fanboy lol. At one time I did have a Wii and 360, didn't really like either. Guess im just more attached to the playstation brand more than anything.
I bought the system for Tekken 6 and FF 13. I didn't know that these games wouldn't be out until 3+ years later. Most of the games I love I didn't know about because they were all new IP's. I got what I wanted and more. I regretted my decision a little back in early 07, but I am glad I stuck it out. As of now, the other system doesn't have that much going for it. In the end I made the right choice. I own all 3, so it doesn't matter.
I bought my PS3 a few weeks after launch in anticipation of Metal Gear Solid 4. My first game was Resistance: Fall of Man.
I think Sony has done an excellent job launching new IP's this generation. Really enjoying the Uncharted, MLB: The Show, and inFamous series' this time around.
I bought it mostly for all the exclusive games, and I ended up enjoying playing on PS3 more than 360, so now I pretty much get all my games on it. When I first bought it; it was mostly for MGS4, and God of War.
It wasn't solely for 1 game. I bought it at the end of 2007. IIRC Warhawk, Uncharted, Ratchet & Heavenly Sword were releasing with MGS4 coming soon.Floppy_Jim
Pretty much the same story for me, and I wanted a BC model. I believe they were discontinuing the BC models around that time.
I bought mine near launch so there weren't many games to choose from...Si I got, Heavenly Sword, Resistance and Dirt. Although I certainly didn't buy the PS3 just to play those games.
I got mine to have the chance to play MGS4 when it released and um... FF XIII xD. I was honestly sort of bothered by it getting ported over to 'the other system' but i've heard the PS3 version is at least the definitive one.
Well originally I had a 360 but it died so I decided to jump on the PS3. I had a PS1 and a PS2 before so I was more of a playstation guy, but when my 360 kicked I just said F it and got a ps3, got it for MGS4 and a lot of other games.
