Funniest thing you've heard someone say about the PS3

Well before the PS3 launched there were a lot of false rumors that I found commical and now that it's out, people still say stupid things about it, whats the funniest thing you've ever heard.

 There are a lot of good ones but I'll start it off with this one guy who said in all seriousness that the PS3 would cost $8,000 retail

The game price is one (100 $ for sure according to several Xbox fans)

PS 3 cooks meat, And I thought that only Wii could do that (joke undercovered for those who know)

The continuos games are not bigger than 9gb while there are many. And those who keep saying this support them saying it could be done in 9 but stupid devs dont do it.

Saying that BD was dead before launch

Gotta agree with that one.

Im a PS3 owner.. But I must admit I hear some rabid PS3 fanboys say some pretty outlandish things about the PS3 as well.  For example, Chad Warden always makes me laugh when "talkin bout tha PS-Tripple".

Just own all three consoles if you can.. enough of the fanboyism. 

One more that I forgot about: "1080p is impossible, HDMI is not needed."  Interesting what a difference a year makes with the red ring executives.

oh god, so many things... lag free servers? thats never gonna happen and the fact that people think that ps3 games will cost $100+. funny story, i was out picking up a headset for my ps3 and the women behind the counter that was ringing me up was trying to get me to buy a gamestop card for discounts on used games.

heres how it goes:

"...10% off used games."(her)

 "no thanks, i dont need it, i dont wait for games to go used that often, either i get it or not."(me)

"you got a ps3 right?"

"yea"

"this will be handy since ps3 games cost $100"

i tilt my head and raise my right eye brow in confusion...

she pauses...

"ive got 5 games for it and NONE were above $60"(me)

"ohhhh...uhhh..."

this was just a few weeks ago...sad...gamestop emplyees oughtta know how much theyre own friggen products cost

Oh man, I remember those rumors. I remember a friend of mine brought over Karaoke Revolution 3 for PS2 about a month ago. Here's how the conversation went as I opened the case for the game.

Me: "This should be fun."

Friend: "Is that thing gonna eat my game? Because if it is, I'm gonna be REALLY pissed!"

*Me looking at her to see if she was genuine in her remark, seeing a serious look*

Me: "No, it won't." A sad case of the misinformed gamer believing old, non-sensical rumors.

well the funniest thing I've heard on a PS3 was the balogny one...

but the funniest playstation thing had to be the Blonde with the PSP, cracked open the game case and wondered why it wouldn't run in the disc drive... I lol'd 

Stupid made up rumors that were obviously false:

$100+ games

Would cost at least $800

Downloadable demos would cost money

GT:HD would cost $700

Discs locked to console so no used games or rentals

Thinking back before launch there was even far more hatred towards PS3 than there is now. The stuff people would make up based off of some random article was completely outrageous. PS3 turned out fine and will get amazing games.... yet everyone still goes crazy hating it. 

Yeah, I remember before I got mine a friend of mine was trying to tell me that there was no way you'd be able to rent games or anything for the PS3 because once you played a game on a PS3, it was registered to that particular console and wouldn't work on any others.

I could start listing hilarious things I've heard fanboys say about any of the consoles, but then we'd be here all night. :D
