well i wanted to get a copy of god of war 1 back since my friend had my copy and cracked the cd, so i wanted to get it again since my ps3 plays ps2 games so i can replay all the god of wars to keep up with the story(not thats its THAT hard) but just wanted to refresh my memory. anywho i went to target and i found a copy brand new for 9.99 and when i went to the register and handed the game and they lady scanned it. she told me u have id i said yea sure, showed her my drivers licenses and she told im sorry u have to be 35years old for me to sell u this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i stood there with my jaws open, i said i understand its a M rated game, but i seen alot worse things ( by the way im 24 so i was way abover the age lol requirement ) , so went in my wallet and showed her my military id since i was in the army and was in iraq for 2 years and told her that can i get it now? u tellin me this game is alot worse than wat i experienced? lol so she refused to sell it to me, untill i called up the manager and he finally agreed to sell it. so basically i was wondering if anythin like this happen to anyone? i just thought it was retarded that u had to be 35 years old! to gettin a M rated game.

on the side note anyone getting KING OF FIGHTERS XII? and i didnt see anyone post or talk about it really. no one interested?

Wow some people actually don't know about M-rated 17+ things on the back.

Must be one of those parents that go "I had no idea my child was playing a game with this content!:o" and then blames others.:P

LOL@ 35 years  Did that clerk even look at the ESRB label on the front of the game? If someone was that ignorant of how old you got to be to play M rated games they should of stopped at least 21 years, not push it all the way to your mid 30s!

i never had such problem, even when i was younger than 17. in fact, the places i went to, they didnt care about M ratings (and i buy most of my games at EB). There was one time they asked for the ID, and luckily that was my 17th birthday.

Was that the Special Edition GOW Bundle that comes with a pack of smokes, a fifth of whiskey, and a girly magazine of your choice? Yea, you have to be 35 to buy that one.

no one checks here, my little brother whose 12 can go and get any game he wants :P he bought madworld for his wii but of course my parents are sort of like filters as well, they didnt mind at my age cuz nothing in games looked like anything, but these days, i aint even allowed to let my siblings SEE my screen as im playing lol

How can you mess up that bad? 35? She obviously just made that up, because she didn't want to sell you the game for some reason.

Sounds to me like she confused the "Does the customer look under 35" warning that appears on the register when M-rated games are scanned. The same warning pops up when purchasing alcohol (I'm 24 btw), the clerk legally has to check ID for anyone that looks under 35 years of age.

Simple mistake, but definitely funny. :D

Yeah, that is definitely pretty funny. I think it is funny that she actually thought you were old enough to drive a car, smoke, drink, gamble, join the military and do just about anything you want (except for joining AARP :P ) but you aren't old enough to buy a game.

I've never bought an M or T rated game from Target, so I've never been carded before. Come to think of it, I can only recall two things I've ever been carded for in my life, that was cough syrup (I had two types of medicine, several bags of cough drops and some cough syrup and they asked to see my ID. At the time I was only 17, so I had to get my brother to buy it, who was also with me. They wouldn't let me ring out on the same order and let him pay for it since they knew it was mine, but it was okay to hand it over to my brother, in front of the cashier, and have him pay for it separatly. Pretty funny if you ask me) and the second time was the other day I was buying Halo 3 and they had to see my ID.
