The graphics, while great, were nowhere NEAR Crysis. The artstyle, however, was arguably better, as Crysis went for a real world approach, while MGS had some pretty awesome art styles.pyromaniac223

We all know G4 is flawed ... its fun for watching but i usually leave my reviews to metacritic for a more rounded approach anyway.

you sound like a big fanboy. Crysis had amazing graphics but your talking up the game so much lol.

Crysis has beautiful graphics and that's about it. Graphically, Crysis > MGS4 but some parts in MGS4 graphics like the face models and weapon models are REALLY REALLY well done and they are my favorites. Environments in Crysis are outstanding. But the blizzard in Shadow Moses in MGS4 is incredible and the way the snow covers up Snake's body in real time is frickin awesome! But otherwise, MGS4 is FAR superior than Crysis in story, gameplay, music, sound, characters, fun etc... These are actual gameplay footages in real time, the cutscenes are without a doubt superior than Crysis' because MGS games have this detailed Hollywood feeling into them when it comes to cutscenes from the AMAZING sound and music to the acting of the characters and face models:

you know man graphics aren't always about how lifelike the game looks.

Dont get me wrong i like mgs4 graphics, but to me i think uncharted is way better in terms of that.

uncharted has the best graphics ive seen out of any video game this gen. the plant, tree, water textures all deliver a perfect score if you ask me.

I'm not a fanboy. But seriously, Crysis is generally accepted as being the game with the greatest graphics. It WAS a good fps with open world gameplay, instead of linear gameplay. It did have a few gameplay flaws though, but its not really fair to compare and FPS with a stealth game like MGS4. In terms of graphics though, Crysis>MGS4.

Graphics don't make a great or even good game. Gameplay, story and fun factor do amongst other aspects. Visuals are also part of the overall package of course, but there are other things that all contribute to excellent product.

Metal Gear Solid 4 has pretty much all factors that make a fantastic game, those who fail to see that part are not gamers, as harsh it may sound.

Well it sort of does. Its not going to look the same for all graphics cards across the board so ya it does.

It doesn't fluctuate THAT much. On high and very high, Crysis owns any other game in existance. Saying that as a non fanboy, just go into google and search Crysis. Some screenshots are nearly photorealistic. I like the art style in MGS4 better though. If it was a console graphics award, yeah, I would go with either MGS4, Uncharted, or Gears.
