In chronological order;
1. Twisted Metal 1, going from Genesis games to full open 3D city was completely amazing. In addition, the game is awesome (still is) andit also took place during Christmas which was when I got it too.
2. Resident Evil 1. So scary, so beautiful, so dramatic- still one of my favorite games of all time. Got this on spring break when it was released and played it the entire while eating bags full of those new Starburst jelly beans :) I almost missed getting my drivers license because of this game. I had a 72 Chevelle waiting for me, but it didn't matter because this game was so awesome.
3. Tomb Raider 1. Massive, beautiful, complex worlds, and awesome music
4. Pilot Wings 64. Another beautiful full 3d open world to explore.
5. Goldeneye 64. Awesomeness in everything.
6. GTA3 living, breathing, believable, nearly fully interactive world you could do anything you want it- such an awesome new experience.
7.Prince of Persia Sands of Time. Beautiful worlds, music, perfect gameplay, best action platformer ever made.
8. Shadow of the Colossus. Everything about this game was breathtaking and it was such a new experience.
Thats it for me. I imagine if I played Oblivion and Dead Rising they would easily make the list, those are the only 2 games that have me interested in the new gen at all- everything else is completely unimpressive.
